Braunwyn Windham-Burke, Former RHOC Star, Accused of Mistreating Her Child with Autism by Ex-Partner

Real Housewives of Orange County alum Braunwyn Windham-Burke has been accused of abusing one of her children by her ex-husband Sean as their court battle heats up.

In court documents exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com, Braunwyn, 47, and Sean, 51, have been feuding over which school to enroll their minor children in given their separate living situations in Tennessee, child support and spousal support payments and the former housewife's treatment of their son, Curren.

In an incident that occurred over the summer, but was not brought up in court documents until December 2024.

Sean tells the court that he contacted the Franklin Police Department on August 14 for assistance with documenting the change of custody 'since it was not his parenting time'— something that was an issue with his ex in the past.

When the FPD arrived at the scene, they 'documented rug burns' on Curren, which apparently were from him 'being dragged by Mother from under the bed,' Sean claimed.

The incident was reported to the Department of Child Services for further investigation.

Although Braunwyn and Sean finalized their divorce in November 2023 in California, the pair have been embroiled in a child support and parenting plan feud ever since the star's move to Nashville.

The exes share seven children together – Bella, 24, Rowan, 22, Jacob, 19, twins Caden and Curren, 11, Koa, 10, and Hazel, 6.

A rep for Braunwyn told DailyMail.com: 'After multiple interviews with the children, the allegations against Braunwyn were declared as unfounded.

'Braunwyn was awarded primary custody after a trial where said details were discussed. The health and safety of her children have always been and will continue to be her first priority.

'Curren has been living with Sean prior to a court hearing this month on December 17th, and will continue to do so as Curren attends a school suited to special needs.

'At the same court hearing, Braunwyn was granted continual primary custody of the children where she has her children 26 days of the month, then four with Sean. Curren will live with Sean 26 days of the month, then four with Braunwyn.'

The accusation is complicated.

Sean continued, '[A worker from] DCS was assigned and has met with CKW at her office, has been to Father's residence twice, been to Mother's residence, and has visited all 4 children at school.

'As a result of the incident, Mother was required to take a parenting class for dealing with children with behavioral issues.'

The Department of Child Services would not comment when reached for comment on this story given Tennessee's privacy laws.

However, a spokesperson from the Franklin Police Department confirmed to DailyMail.com that 'on August 14, we did respond to a call that involved Braunwyn Burke and a DCS referral was made,' citing the incident as a 'welfare check.'

Curren, who has been 'tested and diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder,' is in the care of his father, as agreed upon by Braunwyn, since being in Sean's house full time would provide the 'routine, stability, and patience' needed.

Curren's diagnosis has not been revealed to the public, even though the reality star said four years ago that he is 'legally blind' and was born with Nystagmus.

Per the December filing, Curren is 'thriving' and Braunwyn 'has not seen or spoken' to her son since the incident at her home occurred on August 14, 2024.

The certified recovery and sobriety coach detailed her side of the story in a separate filing obtained by DailyMail.com.

She claims that Curren is 'on the autism spectrum, but is high functioning.' She also says they've known about his diagnosis 'for months,' even though Sean claimed he was not tested until this October.

At one point, when he was still living with Braunwyn, Curren 'ended up hiding under his bed at Mother's home and would not come out. Mother sent numerous text messages to Father, pleading for his help, which he would not provide,' she claims.

'Mother was eventually able to coax C.K.W. out from underneath the bed and took him to his adult sister's home.'

She then says that Sean called the police, but there was 'nothing to document.'

'Father's decision to call the police on Mother was to harass her,' she claims, which Sean later denied.

The LGBTQ+ advocate also suggests that Sean has been refusing to answer his phone whenever she tries getting in touch with Curren.

'Father conveniently left out the fact that Mother has contacted Father multiple times asking for contact with the child, which Father has refused.

'Undersigned counsel sent an email to Father's counsel on November 12, 2024 asking for Father to facilitate time for Mother with C.K.W. Mother's request was rejected without reason,' she informed the court.

Sean has responded to her claims, stating that her messages are an attempt to 'threaten, harass, accuse and berate' him about various matters unrelated to the children.

He also says that Curren told him a different story about the incident and how he used factual evidence of the child having 'burn marks on both of his arms,' to believe he was 'pulled forcibly from under the bed.'

Rowan and Jacob released statements earlier this year calling their mom an 'abuser, liar and manipulator,' while they showed support for their father, who they called 'the kindest most amazing person.'

As part of the divorce proceedings, the businessman was ordered to pay Braunwyn $5,000 per month in spousal support in $6,000 per month in child support.

She since has claimed that he owes her nearly $106,000 in unpaid support.

In her latest filing from December, she's claiming that number 'has continued to grow by tens of thousands of dollars.'

'Father is intentionally trying to squeeze Mother out financially. By failing to provide any support, Father is making Mother's parenting time as painful as possible.

'Because of Father's failure to provide support, Mother has struggled to find time to pursue education for herself,' she states.

Sean, for his part, is arguing in documents filed December 16 that he could not afford to pay spousal support since he is 'experiencing severe financial distress,' and can not even afford to pay $1,300 a month for a private school for Curren.

'Although Father could earn up to $26,000 a month, the reality is that since August 2024, Father has not been paid on a regular, timely, or complete basis which has led to an incredible financial crisis that Father is dealing with as he attempts to establish other revenue streams,' he argues in the docs.

He does, however, claim that he has paid a total of $49,107.60 to Braunwyn in child support payments.

He is requesting the court terminate alimony because Braunwyn is 'being financially supported' by her now-wife Jennifer Spinner as well as Braunwyn's mom and stepfather.

On December 4, Braunwyn and Jennifer tied the knot in a 'last minute' ceremony that took place at their Nashville home. Sean argues that under their order from California, alimony ends upon remarriage.

Braunwyn and her new wife will be beginning their next chapter at a newly built $1 million house in Arrington, Tennessee.

Their expected move in date was December 19, per the docs. Braunwyn posted on her Instagram story that same day with a photo of her holding the keys, and captioning it, 'And the home is done!!!'

Sean and Braunwyn have a hearing set in the new year, in which a judge will review their parenting plan and hopefully resolve the many issues the exes are dealing with.
