Season 18 wasn’t easy for Shannon Beador. The Real Housewives of Orange County star was working on dealing with the repercussions of her DUI and mending a few friendships. Rumors began to swirl that she was also a monster while working on another reality TV series. So, fans didn’t exactly think she was innocent. Shannon has been called out a few times for her diva-like behavior. But nothing was as bad as Joel Kim Booster had claimed.

What did Joel Kim Booster accuse Shannon of?

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Joel slammed Shannon for her bad behavior while filming Love Hotel. Joel, the show’s host, unleashed a messy tirade as he questioned Shannon’s alleged bad behavior. He called her “a pathetic drunk” and accused her of treating people “like they’re subhuman.” Joel’s outburst was lengthy as he wrote, “Just because you’re a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best known for a string of failed relationships and a DUI does not make you a star and does not give you license to treat the people you work with like they are subhuman. Period. They will make me delete this.”

In a second story, he added, “Well, that was quick,” noting he’d been told to take down the story. “Anyway. Don’t regret it. Hope you screenshot it. Hope she suffers. Well, let’s just say I can’t imagine what John Janssen went through. Poor guy.” Fan account @bravohistorian, shared that Joel’s tirade began on Instagram Live, claiming he “COOKED Shannon Beador, like he roasted her, chopped her up, and served her for breakfast. Said she has been a TERROR for the entire three weeks, humiliates the crew, was hideous to him and that at the wrap part just a few hours ago she was terrible to someone he really loves.”

On October 11, Joel sent out an apology to Shannon. Many felt the network had made him retract his sentiments, though. Once again, he took to his Instagram Story to share just how sorry he was for putting Shannon under such a microscope. The comedian wrote, “I’ve had a lot of time to think and process about this, and I wish I could say that I was not the guy who posted those statements on Instagram, but the fact is that I am.” The Fire Island star added, “I let an onset conflict cloud my judgment and accessed the darkest, ugliest part of myself and said things I don’t stand by or even believe, and I am deeply sorry that I allowed my worst self to cloud my judgment.”

Additionally, Joel wrote, “I know Shannon has had an extraordinarily hard year as she has bravely shared, and as someone who has struggles of their own that have spilled over into work, I should have had more grace for her in that moment.” Viewers were confused at his about-face as he noted, “I am deeply sorry for the way in which I’ve made Shannon’s road toward stability more difficult, and hope that she makes it out the other side of this stronger, healthier, and with the love that she deserves in her life.”

Shannon Beador shares her side of the drama

Shannon spoke out on The Viall Files last week, and fans were able to hear her side of the story. The Real for Real owner said, “We all get tired. Each one of the points were like, ‘Ok, I haven’t eaten, I’m exhausted, or I need to walk away,’ but it wasn’t like berating and screaming. All I can say is I didn’t do what he said. I don’t treat people subhuman.” Let’s ask Matt Ginella! As Shannon shed some light on the altercation, it did feel that Joel’s story had a ring of truth to it. Could Shannon have just got hangry? After learning what Joel accused her of doing, Shannon noted that she was “very shocked.”

Shannon also added “I was in the airport. We had wrapped, and the last thing when I saw him when we finished filming, he had tears in his eyes, and he hugged me. I don’t know what’s going on, and it’s hurtful and it’s upsetting to me because I always get close to the crew. “Shannon added she “considers them like my family. I thought, ‘What’s going on?’ The girls, they were really supportive. Everyone was surprised.” But in true Shannon mode, she ended her interview by saying, “I can forgive anyone. But you can forgive, you don’t need to forget, and I don’t think it was a genuine apology.”
