Every year, we seemingly go through the offseason with a new class of quarterbacks taking turns becoming the new "highest-paid player in the league."
On Thursday, it was Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence who signed a record deal worth $245 million, tying him with Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow as the highest-paid QB in the league.
Now, with Lawrence locked down for the future, the attention has turned to a different QB who could get a massive contract on the open market if he chooses to become a free agent in the future.
That player is Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott.

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys have been putting off an extension for Prescott for a while now, and it might cost them in the end. They will either have to make him the highest-paid player in the NFL or watch him take his services to another team.
There's a chance that the Cowboys get a deal done with Prescott this offseason, but if they choose to take it into the season or next offseason, it could prove costly.
