In the months leading up to season 16 of Real Housewives of Orange County, Bravo hailed Heather Dubrow as its savior sent from above, restoring the grandeur of past seasons. Fans expected the actress, who was off the air for four years, to get the show back on track after a bizarre cast shakeup, which resulted in the firings of several popular castmates.
In reality, the season had some of the worst ratings in the franchise’s history. Many viewers were taken aback by the unfair group dynamics, which seemed to place Heather in a constant seat of power. Fans began to question if Bravo had made the right decision.
During a Q&A session on Instagram with S’More Date, OG castmate Vicki Gunvalson was asked if Heather was a dud.
“I have nothing against Heather. I don’t think Heather respects me, and I think that… she was a little off,” said Vicki, who seemed to hesitate in her answers. “Because she didn’t have an anchor to keep her grounded. You know I have nothing against Heather, but I don’t think she really likes me and respects me.”
The star was soon reminded that Heather was supposed to save the show.
“Please, please,” responded Vicki, smiling. “It didn’t work, did it?”

The network seemingly agreed with Vicki’s sentiments since they fired Heather’s biggest ally on the show, Dr. Jen Armstrong (who often parroted Heather’s words, sharing barely any opinions that differed from her friend).
Bravo also took a bold move and rehired Tamra Judge, who was fired after season 14. Many fans believe Tamra will shake up the group dynamics, challenging Heather when no one else is brave enough.
If Tamra simply falls in line, we may witness another season of catastrophic ratings.
