The Bachelor fans outraged by Grant Ellis' eliminations heading into Hometowns week with the final four

Grant Ellis picked his final four ladies on ABC's The Bachelorette, and fans were rather shocked and upset.

This isn't the first time that fans have spoken out about the 31-year-old day trader's choices, blasting him for sending two fan favorites home last week.

This week there were just seven ladies remaining - Alexe Godin, 27, Carolina Quixano, 28, Dina Lupancu, 31, Juliana Pasquarosa, 28, Litia Garr, 31, Sarafiena Watkins, 29 and Zoe McGrady, 27, heading into the fifth week.

Monday's new episode brought Grant and his ladies to Edinburgh, Scotland, but there was much drama to be had with the ladies, most centering on Carolina.

Many of the ladies put her on blast for monopolizing their time with Grant during a group date, and the tensions only rose from there.

After Dina complained about Carolina - which was not the first time Grant has heard the women complain about her - that was seemingly enough for Grant to send her home.

While most fans weren't as surprised with Carolina's elimination, many were quite stunned that Alexe and Sarafiena were sent home, just before the Hometowns week.

The eliminations were even more shocking since Zoe became one of the rare contestants to advance to the Hometowns without securing a one-on-one date.

Heading into this week in Edinburgh, Scotland, Zoe and Juliana were the only two contestants remaining who hadn't gotten a one-on-one date with Grant.

After they arrived at the historic Dalmahoy Hotel in Edinburgh, host Jesse Palmer told the ladies there would be two one-on-one dates and one group date... and surprisingly, there would be no roses given out on any of the dates.

Juliana was announced as the first one-on-one date, but many were surprised when Zoe was part of the group date, with Litia getting a second one-on-one date.

Still, Zoe made the best of an awkward situation, admitting to Grant that it was frustrating to not get a one-on-one date but he insisted they had a strong connection.

Most of the drama in this (and most of the previous episodes) centered on Carolina, who found another way to monopolize time with Grant during a group date.

She sat by herself for part of the date, which, naturally, led Grant to come over and talk to her, which naturally annoyed the rest of the ladies.

GMA reveals the women competing for Grant Ellis on The Bachelor
When it came time for the rose ceremony, only four roses were on the pedestal, with three ladies going home.

Litia received the first rose, Juliana received the second, Dina earned the third, though many were stunned when Zoe was given the final rose, sending the villainous Carolina and fan favorites Alexe and Sarafiena home.

This made Zoe one of the few contestants in Bachelor Nation history to advance to Hometowns without a one-on-one date.

Fans did not hesitate to take to social media to express their shock at Grant's final four decision, including Hira Malik (@malik_hira1), who said, 'HE PICKED ZOE OVER ALEXE?!!'

Avanti Yamamoto (@uhvantea) added, 'Either Grant picked these girls names out of a hat or production did a terrible job filming because I did NOT see this final 4.'
