Tom Schwartz Vows Never to Venture into Business with Tom Sandoval Again After Friendship Takes a Hit from Schwartz & Sandy's Demise - lulu

TOM Schwartz ‘will never’ go into business again with Tom Sandoval after the demise of their bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s, ‘ruined’ their friendship, The U.S. Sun can reveal. 

The Vanderpump Rules alums have formed one of the most famous bromances in reality TV history, but their relationship was severely fractured over “Scandoval” and the closing of their lounge.

Schwartz, 42, and Sandoval, 42, both admitted to “pouring their life savings” into Schwartz & Sandy’s - the Franklin Village eatery in the heart of Hollywood. 

Tom Sandoval even confessed to using his mother’s $250,000 retirement savings to invest in the bar, and last he spoke of the loan, he has “yet to pay her back.” 

Meanwhile, Schwartz said that investing so much into the restaurant, both emotionally and financially, is ultimately what led to his divorce from ex-wife Katie Maloney. 

Despite giving it all they had, Schwartz & Sandy’s closed in December 2024 after just two years of business. 

As the Tom’s continue to recover from the business failure, an insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Schwartz has been “very vocal” about the fact that he will “never go into business with Sandoval again.” 

“They are still friends as they’ll always have a connection in that brotherly sort of way and Schwartz will always think of him as a brother. 

“But Schwartz and Sandy’s closing ruined their friendship for awhile and it will never be the same,” the insider claimed. 

The source continued to explain: “It put a severe fracture in their relationship that they have partially recovered from but I don’t think they fully ever will.

“The financial ruin and stress put a toll on them and led to really nasty fights and huge disagreements they couldn’t compromise on. 

“At the end of the day there’s still love but the trust they had before has been broken between them. 

“Schwartz is still financially recovering from the bar closing, I mean they both are still recovering from that, and with VPR ending, they’re not in the best place money wise. 

“But Schwartz has got some things in the works so he'll be okay. He won’t be a stranger to TV screens."

Previously, The U.S. Sun reported that Schwartz was "gutted" by their bar closing and felt "abandoned" by his business partner.

“The Tom’s put their heart and soul into this restaurant. Schwartz especially gave it everything he had, his blood sweat and tears,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.

“It literally cost him his marriage, he did everything for it. He tried to host events and came in nearly every night to bring people in.

“Schwartz had a lot of ideas while Sandoval was off doing his own thing, I think Schwartz felt abandoned by him. [Sandoval] wasn’t around much and didn’t put in the same effort. 

“He wouldn’t come in for months and months during [Scandoval] and even after. But I mean it’s hit them both hard.

“They both invested a ton of money and they’re devastated, absolutely gutted. They kept throwing ideas out there but it was like throwing spaghetti at the wall and nothing was sticking. 

“It ended up being a money pit that they couldn’t get out of,” the source added.

Schwartz & Sandy’s opened in a Franklin Village strip mall in November 2022, their first business venture separate from Tom Tom mentor Lisa Vanderpump. 

Their tough journey to get the space open was documented on Vanderpump Rules - where Schwartz admitted he would “probably still be married” if it weren't for the time, and money, commitment to the bar. 

Despite the stress of pouring so much money into the establishment, Sandoval had been largely absent from Schwartz & Sandy’s since “Scandoval” broke out in 2023. 

While Schwartz would regularly post on social media that he was at the bar and asked fans to “come in and hang out,” Sandoval rarely did the same. 

“We hardly ever see [Sandoval] in here. It’s been a few months but Schwartz is in here nearly every day,” a Schwartz & Sandy’s staffer told The U.S. Sun just before the bar shut down.
