The radio host, best known for his work on LBC, appeared on the ITV daytime show with presenters Alison Hammond and Dermott O'Leary, and guest Ashley James when talk turned to weddings.

The group were mid discussion about bridal party sizes when Alison said: “I think you need at least ten bridesmaids right?”

Ashley replied: “I don’t want to get married but I would say if you want to have one, none, 95, I feel like it’s your day.”

Looking at Nick, who has been married once before, she teased: “And hopefully you only do it once if you’re lucky you do it two or three times.”

Alison jumped in with a grin: “How many have you had Nick?”

And Nick laughed: “A couple … but you don’t know how many friends you’ve got until you announce you are getting married in the South of France as I am later this year.

“Suddenly everyone is your friend!”

Ashley joked: “I still haven’t made the cut yet!”

Nick was previously married to Sandra Phylis Conolly, and they share two sons, Sebastian and Nicolo.

Nick proposed over Christmas, in a restaurant in the South of France.

He also said Clare had a part in designing her engagement ring, and the playful way they worked together on creating it.

Nick told Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on the show in January: "I am engaged to be wed to Claire. We had the most idyllic Christmas and we’d been to Lapland and had a brilliant time.

"Then we were down in the South of France and after ten years together I said she can make an honest man out of me."

Nick continued: "I did it at our favourite restaurant in the South of France and I wanted her to play a role in designing her engagement ring.

"So we went along to a DIY store and kept getting down on one knee."

Nick said when he got down on one knee in the store, he playfully asked Clare to hand him a screwdriver instead.

He said he bought his partner a "decent ring" in a local village, after initially joking about with a jubilee clip.

In the past, Nick has worked as a news reporter on the Sunday Mirror and editor of The Sun's Bizarre.

During his time reporting showbiz he interviewed Roger Moore on the set of James Bond hit Octopussy - and even appeared as an extra in the film.

Nick has also worked at the Daily Mirror as assistant editor and as features editor of the News Of The World's Sunday magazine.

He has also made appearances on The Pledge on Sky News, Richard & Judy, GMTV, London Tonight and BBC London News.

You may have also caught him as a panellist on BBC's Question Time.
