Salley Carson: Mastering Independence and Precision in Southern Charm as a $400,000-A-Year Spine Surgery Robot Operator - lulu

So far, Southern Charm newcomer Salley Carson has proven herself especially skilled at dropping bombshells. In the Season 10 trailer, she revealed that Taylor Ann Green's boyfriend, Gaston Rojas, is her ex ... and that she has a past connection to Shep Rose, too. Now, in a new preview for Episode 4, we're learning more about Salley and her impressive career.

In the above sneak peek of the January 2 episode of Southern Charm, Salley is shown hopping out of bed at the early hour of 4:30 a.m. while the rest of her fellow cast members slumber peacefully in their own homes.

"My day starts at 4:30. I let my dog out. I do yoga, quick shower, put my scrubs on, and then 6:45 head to the hospital. I'm in surgery until about 1. I feel like I'm living in Grey's Anatomy," she explains. "It's a weird, weird life that I live."

What sort of surgery, though? Allow her to explain.

What does Salley Carson do for a living?

Salley works as a spine surgery robot operator. (According to her LinkedIn, her official job title is "Hybrid Robotic / Core Spinal Representative.) "People are always shocked when I tell them I control a robot in spine surgery. I'm like, 'Excuse me? Do I not look like somebody that would do that?'" she jokes in the Southern Charm preview.

Salley also previously worked at Leva Bonaparte's restaurant Republic. Her fellow new Southern Charm-er Molly O'Connell revealed as much on Episode 3, noting, "We both were doing like front door VIP, but she always got to leave early because she’s got this pretty legitimate job teaching surgeons how to use surgical robots."

As for Salley's career motivations, she adds in the above sneak peek, "When I was 15 years old, I thought I would have probably three kids by now. Because I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, my family was very, very Southern. I did the whole cotillion thing. Went to debutante balls. But it wasn't for me; I just wanted to be a boss."

Suffice to say she is a boss — especially considering her impressive salary.

What is Salley Carson's salary as a spine surgery robot operator?

According to the Salley, she makes around $400,000 annually.

"I feel like I've finally become a very strong, independent Southern woman," she says in the Southern Charm preview. "I don't need a guy to have a house. I don't even need a guy to have kids. I can do it all on my own."
