Leah McSweeney revealed she’s suffering from Lyme disease on her Instagram Story on Thursday.
In a series of posts that seem to have since been deleted, the 41-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum, who filed a controversial lawsuit against Bravo and Andy Cohen, 55, earlier this year, accusing the network of preying on her addiction issues, shared her test results with her fans and followers.
“Leah McSweeney has been diagnosed with Lyme disease,” The Real Housewives Zone wrote to their online audience on Instagram.
In an accompanying screenshot of Leah’s announcement, she had written, “IM SHOOK. Please send success stories of healing from Lyme,” and added that the illness was “a new infection not chronic.”
In another post, which is also no longer live on Leah’s page, she wrote, “Apologies to all my friends who I’ve canceled on in the past couple months [because] I was feeling like sh*t.”
Leah additionally shared a photo of vials of her blood, joking that everything was going great.
Following the February filing of Leah’s lawsuit, which suggested producers had “encouraged” her to relapse in an effort to boost ratings on their show, Bravo cleared Andy of the allegedly “unsubstantiated” claims she made against him, which included cocaine use with other Real Housewives.
“The outside investigation into the recent allegations made by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney against Andy Cohen has now been completed, and the claims were found to be unsubstantiated,” a Bravo spokesperson told Page Six earlier this month.
But after Andy was deemed innocent, Leah’s attorney, Gary Adelman, questioned the legitimacy of Bravo’s investigation.
“This is perfect timing,” he stated. “One line so they can repeat it to all the advertisers at the upfronts. How do you have an investigation without speaking with [anyone]? As far as we know, no one ever contacted our firm.”
Leah McSweeney was featured on The Real Housewives of New York City during its 12th and 13th seasons.
