He took them to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2022 campaign.

That ended in a heart-breaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Glendale, Arizona.

But Sirianni got his hands on the sport's biggest prize earlier this year.

His team avenged that loss to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The coach is headed into the final season of the five-year deal he signed.

And chief executive Jeffrey Lurie was pressed on his contract situation at the annual league meeting.

"Nick is going to be our coach," Lurie announced.

"We don't talk publicly, we never have, but you guys I'm sure will find out soon enough that Nick will be our coach going forward.

"He has done an outstanding job.

"Everything that I had hoped for with Nick, he embodies.

"Whether it's connection, intelligence in so many ways from football intelligence, emotional intelligence, managing of people, hiring of assistant coaches, growth mindset at all times."

Sirianni faced some criticism when the Eagles started this season 2-2.

It came on the back of a late-season collapse in 2023 which dashed their hopes of an instant Super Bowl return.

Sirianni was even caught on camera apparently in a heated confrontation with fans.

They beat the Cleveland Browns 20-16 to move to 3-2.

But some fans at Lincoln Financial Field were heard booing.

The Eagles head coach was seen holding his ears towards the crowd.

He said after the game, "We thrive off the crowd when they cheer for us. That's all I'll say.

"We hear them when they boo. We don't necessarily like it.

"I don't think that's productive for anybody.

"But when they cheer for us and when we've got them rolling, we love it."

Sirianni added, "I was having fun and I kind of got some feedback from the guys, the sense of like, 'We need you back, Nick. We need your energy. We need your focus.'

"I've gotten that from a couple players.

"When I'm operating and having fun, I think that breeds to the rest of the football team."

The Eagles only lost one more game all season after that incident on their run to Super Bowl glory.
