Roy spoke after the game and gave his remarks that left many surprised on how brutally honest he was which lead to Duclair leaving the team For an indefinite period of time.
NHL analyst gave high praise to Duclair on his handling of the situation
"He (Duclair) was god-awful. He had a bad game. That's why I didn't play him a lot. He is lucky to be in the lineup. Sorry if I lose it on him right now, but that's just how I feel. He's not skating, he's not competing, he's not moving his feet. He's not playing up to what we expect from him. ... I think it's an effort thing." Patrick Roy
During a broadcast, NHL analyst Frank Corrado gave his take on what had happened between both Roy and Duclair and expressed his praise for Duclair taking a leave of absence to work on his mental health.
"Listen, we don't know what people are going through, obviously. And you know, like, there's, there's just this, this mental health component, which everyone is has a right to and is entitled to and like we always say to people, if you're struggling, get help. So whether there's a game or not, or if it's you know, you just, you got to take care of yourself." - Frank Corrado
Former Rangers pick seen his share of teams in his career
Duclair Was selected by the New York Rangers in 2013, third round 80th overall. He arrived in the NHL in 2014 with the Rangers and only played 18 games with the team, scoring one goal with six assists for seven points was a + 4.
