Last week, Tom Brady made an appearance at the Indy 500 in Indianapolis, home of the Colts, one of his many long-time rivals. Predictably, fans booed him as he appeared before the crowd. But the GOAT didn't flinch. Instead, he threw a clever jab right back at them.
"It was great to get in one more successful drive in front of a bunch of Colts fans," Brady said.
Brady remembers a hilariously foul-mouthed moment from a young Jets fan
The real heat has always come from the AFC East fan bases including the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills, whose teams Brady dominated year after year. Over his career, Brady went 87-22 against those division foes. Against the New York Jets alone, he held a 30-7 record, often making their lives miserable.
In a recent interview, Brady recalled one of the funniest heckles he ever received, this one from a very young Jets fan in his final season with the Patriots.
"I've heard it all. Actually, in my last season with the Patriots, we were playing at the Jets in the Meadowlands. And I'm standing in the tunnel before the game, and this kid's yelling down at me, 'You bleepedy-bleep bleep.' [Laughs]"
"And I look up at this kid and I just said, 'How old are you?' He goes, '11,' I go, 'Where are your parents!?' [Laughs] And I'm like, you know, you teach 'em early and they're into it too, so it's fun."
The moment was both absurd and hilarious. Here was the greatest quarterback of all time getting cursed out by an 11-year-old, and instead of being offended, Brady laughed it off. That response speaks to how deeply football culture runs.
"You teach 'em early and they're into it too, so it's fun," Brady said.
