The Islanders were celebrating Valentine's Day on Friday night in the Love Island villa, and there were girlfriend proposals all around. However, it didn't go to plan for Ronnie Vint.
As the girls went out to the supermarket to collect ingredients for a 'slap up meal' made by their partners, the boys were treated to a phone call from home.
Ronnie expressed his desire to make Harriett his girlfriend during his chat with Bradley Dack and Olivia Attwood, while Curtis spoke to brother AJ. During this chat with his Strictly Come Dancing star brother, Curtis said he may wait until they leave the villa to ask the big question - but it looks like things couldn't wait.
As he was reunited with Ekin in the evening, Curtis 'popped the question' as Ekin-Su answered with a kiss. However, elsewhere, Ronnie wasn't having the same luck.
When the two were reunited on the terrace, Ronnie explained how he told Olivia and Brad he wanted to make Harriett his girlfriend, but things didn't go down to well for the star. "You're not doing it now," she told him.
As Ronnie awkwardly laughed, Harriett continued to shake her head in hopes he wouldn't ask her. "I want us to be fully closed off, no one else. Ronnie and Harriett," he said as she exclaimed how he was "so cute." The two then said they loved each other before sharing a passionate kiss.
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter during the awkward moment, as some think they know why Harriett rejected Ronnie, claiming she 'doesn't like him'. "Every time I’ve stopped a guy from making me his gf… I didn’t fancy him. I still ride for Ron and H but she don’t like him cos what’s that #loveisland," penned one fan, as another said it was too early: "I knew Olivia set Ronnie up by telling him to make him to make Harriett his girlfriend so early #LoveIslandAllStars #LoveIsland."
Another wrote: "Casey knows why Harriett refused to be Ronnie’s girlfriend when he asked, he also knows Harriett was holding out for another person and not really Ronnie.."
Harriett had previously voiced her concerns about letting her guard down with Ronnie, after he lost her trust on the outside world after their first stint in Summer. Harriett came into the show saying she was open, first choosing to couple up with Ron Hall.
However, things didn't last between the two and it wasn't long until Harriett and Ronnie were back together again.
Things got worse for the couple at the end of the night, as the Islanders received a text that the public had been voting, with three couples left vulnerable. These were Ronnie and Harriett, Catherine and Omar and Sammy and Elma.
That wasn't all, as the Islanders were then informed that the dumped Islanders would be making a return to the villa to decide which couple wouldn't be making it to Monday's final.
