Kelly Dodd is not everyone’s favorite, but few can deny that she’s a fiercely protective mother.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum has been off the show since 2021, but her influence is just as strong, and her name continues to hit the headlines.
On May 7, Kelly posted a photo of her 15-year-old daughter Jolie at the hospital. The image, which was posted to Instagram, showed Jolie with an IV in her arm – on a gurney.
Kelly wrote with the post, “Pray for Jolie!”
Many fans were immediately concerned, and Kelly didn’t provide an explanation. A few hours later, Kelly gave a few more details, “Jolie might have appendicitis, we don’t know, but we’ve been here in this ER for four hours now and there’s people screaming. I don’t know how anybody… Thank god for doctors and nurses.”
A little bit later, Kelly posted a video in the car with her daughter, and she explained Jolie “got discharged.” She expressed to her followers, “Thank god. Okay, well thank god she’s okay. She had a bad UTI, went into her kidneys.” Kelly was glad it wasn’t her appendix (though the physicians initially thought this might be the case).
Eventually, when the mother and daughter were back at home, Kelly shared a video of Jolie in bed, and Kelly asked how she was feeling. Kelly also said, “You didn’t eat anything all day.”
Last February, the teen posted a heartfelt message to her mom, and she called her “the funniest, smart, compassionate, loving” person.
“I’m so blessed to call you mom. Even though we have our ups and downs your big heart always shines through regardless,” wrote the daughter, via Daily Mail. “Thank you for working your ass off to make my life amazing and showing me the whole world. I can’t thank you enough for all you do for me. But I love you and hope you have an amazing day mommy!”
