Alex Baskin also described the "intense" second season of The Valley.
Bravo producer and podcast host Alex Baskin just teased audiences with a tidbit about what’s to come for Vanderpump Rules, and the anticipation is killing us all.
On Season 1, Episode 4 of Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo with Kate Chastain, Alex sat with The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey and The Real Housewives of Miami’s Marysol Patton to discuss everything going on in the Bravo universe. There was no avoiding talk about Vanderpump Rules with Alex sitting on the panel, especially considering the news that Lisa Vanderpump is returning for Season 12 with a whole new group of SUR-vers.
Alex, who will will remain an executive producer on the series, told Below Deck alum and host Kate Chastain that the upcoming Vanderpump Rules season has been “a thrill” to build.
But who's on the Season 12 cast? Here's what he had to say.
As fans eagerly await news about the new cast, Alex teased that Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules would be “fun" with the fresh faces.
“It’s getting back to sort of the foundational principles of the show,” Alex said. “It’s a group of people who really work at the restaurant and are besties, live together, going through a really fun phase of their life together.”
Alex, who is also host of Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast, previously said the upcoming season was produced “with [a] profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run.”
Lisa Vanderpump also shared her take on the cast shakeup to put everyone at ease.
"When you have a restaurant, especially in Hollywood, with a revolving door of beautiful people who are all kinds of normally rather large personalities because they come to Hollywood for a reason, it's always complicated," she told Us Weekly last month. "I am sure it's gonna be very different with these young minxes when they get to work, but we shall see. I got some very interesting characters for sure, but SUR has been around for a very long time, and as I say, it's a show we could have shot 12 months of the year."
Of course, if you're missing past cast members, you can watch The Valley to see familiar faces such as Jax Taylor, Kristen Doute, and Brittany Cartwright (and plenty of others who come and go).
Alex serves as executive producer on both shows and had more to tease after Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo live audience members watched the drama-filled trailer for The Valley’s sophomore season.
“It’s intense the entire way through, so that is just the tip of the iceberg,” Alex said. “It’s a wild ride. Very unexpected.”
He jokingly noted there's been so much drama, it's almost a challenge to tell the whole story.
“And things continue to happen, so we keep thinking there are epilogues to this season at this point,” Alex continued. “We have to be done at some point. The show has to air!”
The Season 2 premiere of The Valley will air Tuesday, April 15 at 9/8c on Bravo and the next day on Peacock.
