Litia Garr is a frontrunner on Season 29 of The Bachelor. Just before Hometown Dates, she revealed to Grant Ellis that she’s Mormon. Litia is now one of the final three women and is well-liked by the audience. However, some fans are confused about how she can wear form-fitting or strapless dresses as a Mormon. Is she breaking the religion’s dress code rules on the reality show?

Mormon Rules About Clothing

Mormonism is one of the religions followed worldwide. About 2% of the population in the United States are Mormons. The religion is often misunderstood but interest in Mormonism is growing enough that Hulu launched the show Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives last year.

One of the most well-known tenets of the religion is modesty in both dress and behavior. Members of the religion are encouraged to avoid revealing or suggestive clothing.

Members who have made sacred covenants in the temple wear temple garments under their everyday clothing. Temple garments are similar to an undershirt and knee-length briefs. How does the dress code align with Litia’s wardrobe on The Bachelor?

Is Litia Garr Breaking Mormon Dress Code On The Bachelor?

Bachelor Nation fans took to social media to discuss Mormon dress code and why Litia doesn’t seem to follow it. They previously debated whether she drinks alcohol on the show or not.

A Bachelor Nation fan kicked the dress code discussion off with the question, “How is Litia able to wear what she wears while being Mormon?”

Only Litia knows the real answer to that and hasn’t addressed it yet. However, fans of the reality show had their own ideas about why she shows some skin despite her religion’s rules against it.

One person who is a Mormon themselves speculated that Litia Garr hasn’t gone to temple yet. “People who wear garments are adults (18+) who participated in a temple ceremony after getting their endowment,” they revealed.

Several reality show fans brought up the fact that several of the pro dancers on Dancing With The Stars are Mormon and are able to wear revealing outfits during their performances. Check out some other thoughts about Litia’s clothing choices:

  • “Mormonism is a spectrum just like any other religion. There are those that are really strict, those that are more in it culturally/because their families has been in it for generations, and then “jack-Mormons” who believe it still but don’t really go to church or follow the rules. And then everything in between.”
  • “There are Mormons who don’t wear their garments. I know the DWTS pros get away with it because it’s a physical activity. Maybe Litia is secretly a rebel”
  • “From the little I know, I suspect that Litia can dress more freely because her standing within the church is towards the lower end of the scale.”

Grant & Litia Doomed Over Differing Religious Beliefs?

Litia Garr was one of three women who received a rose after Hometown Dates. The Salt Lake City native is one step closer to marrying Grant Ellis. But according to some Bachelor Nation fans, there’s a huge hurdle in the road to romance between Grant and Litia: their respective religions.

While Litia is a Mormon, Grant said on the reality show that he’s not traditionally religious, though he does believe in God.

Some concerned viewers think the couple is doomed because of their religious differences.
