As someone who knows a lot on the subject of divorce, Erika explained why she's "not surprised" that Kyle hasn't officially filed to formalize her split from Mauricio Umansky.

"No, I'm not surprised," she told E! News when asked about her castmate's separation, which started in the summer of 2023. "I think that this is a personal journey. You know, nobody can say when you should or shouldn't."

Erika went on to note that while she does understand why neither Kyle nor Dorit have filed paperwork (Dorit separated from Paul "PK" Kemsley in May 2024), she still has some words of advice for both of her friends.

"I would say the same thing to Kyle that I would say to Dorit, which is, 'I don't want either one of you to be blindsided, so just be, you know, prepared,'" she concluded.

Why won't Kyle Richards file for divorce?

As Kyle has explained on the show, she's not in a rush to divorce Mauricio because their lives (including their shared properties) are so entangled. Plus, as she's said, the estranged spouses are still very close and cordial with one another.

Dorit, on the other hand, was newly separated when Season 14 filmed.

Erika Jayne weighs in on Dorit Kemsley's feud with Kyle Richards

Throughout RHOBH Season 14, Erika has found herself in the crosshairs of Kyle and Dorit's friendship drama.

On Season 14, Episode 8, Erika got in a bit of a sticky situation with Dorit when she came to Kyle's defense regarding her text messages with PK.

Erika explained why it seemed like she sided with Kyle on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show.

"I don't want to choose anybody over anybody, and I'm sure it's going to look like I'm the biggest f--king flip flopper ever. I hope not," she said. "But I was trying to be kind to two women who were in a terrible place."

After feeling like Kyle and Dorit were expecting her to eventually take a side, Erika chose to remove herself from the situation.

"I said, 'You know what? I quit.' Now the two of you need to handle it," she continued on the After Show. "I knew it was a terrible position. At some point I was going to get it wrong, and I was going to have to step backward. Which is what I did. You guys have got to figure this out. Both of these women are important to me, both of these women are going through very tough times in their life and I'm going through a tough time in my life. I want to give everybody the grace and the love and support that I possibly can. I don't want anybody to hurt more than they have to."
