The Valley's Michelle Saniei just made a major move in her relationship with boyfriend Aaron Nosler — literally — and Jesse Lally is less than thrilled.
During The Valley After Show for Season 2, Episode 2, Jesse revealed that Michelle recently began living with Aaron and "conveniently forgot to tell" him. "But I put the pieces together," he explained.
His estranged wife's new romantic milestone didn't totally come out of left field, though. "Like a month prior, she said, 'I might, when my lease ends, be moving to Aaron's house. And I spoke to my lawyer, and there's nothing you can do about it,'" Jesse shared, adding, "That's how the relationship is."
Jesse's main concern, he said, was the well-being of their 5-year-old daughter, Isabella.
"When I found out that … she was moving into his house, I contacted Michelle and her team, and I said, 'Look, this a 30-something-year-old man with no experience with children. If Michelle can't perform her custodial duties for, like if she has to go out for girls' dinner or something like that, I have first right of refusal to take her,'" he explained. "Michelle said, 'Absolutely not.'"
After a phone call with Aaron, however, the two realized they were actually on the same page.
"He's like, 'Oh, no, Michelle and I have had a conversation. I don't plan to be a caretaker. She's already said if this situation arises, she'll call you or get a nanny,'" Jesse added. "I'm like, 'Alright, so I proposed the exact same thing. Why did she say no?'"
Jesse also told Aaron that he want
ted to visit his home to see what Isabella's "living arrangement is like." Explaining that Michelle didn't "feel safe" with him doing that, however, Aaron allegedly offered to send pictures and videos of the space instead. However, Jesse claimed that "he never did."
Regardless, he admitted that Isabella is "very happy" with the living situation.
"I know Michelle's a good mother and wouldn't put Isabella in a harmful position. And I know Aaron's a good guy and wouldn't do the same," Jesse conceded. "It's less about control, and it's more about safety and security."
Michelle, for her part, agreed that Isabella "absolutely loves" the new living arrangement — as does she.
"It feels like a home that I haven't had for a long time, and I love it," Michelle gushed on the After Show. "When I have Isabella, we have family dinners, and I used to just do all of that by myself. So, the fact that, like, I have a partner... Even though that's not her father, like, he treats her as if he's a stepdad."
Still, Michelle insisted that she doesn't "want to take Isabella away" from Jesse. "That is the reason why I moved a couple blocks away," she added. "We're very close, so we have a little bubble."
Despite their proximity, Michelle was the first to admit that co-parenting with Jesse "has not been fun," while he similarly added, "Our situation is not good."
As viewers saw in the April 22 episode, the exes struggled to agree on a schedule for Isabella, though they seem to have since made some progress.
"We're doing our best with Isabella," Jesse stressed. "We just changed her schedule, so we're doing every other weekend, 2-2-3 now, since the beginning of this year."
Separately, Michelle further explained their "50/50" custody arrangement. "Every two days, we see her, so that it's not a long time that she goes without each parent," she elaborated. "As she gets older, in the custody [agreement], I put that we'll do five days at a time when we feel like it's appropriate. Because I don't want her to be, ya know, a week without her mom or her dad."
As for how they're navigating the new normal amid their divorce, Michelle said she feels like she's on "a roller coaster" with Jesse. "If he's in a good mood, he thinks that we're OK. And when he's hungover, in a bad mood, then it's all my fault," she shared. "I believe he's a great father, but he was a horrible husband and he's a horrible ex-husband."
