The Las Vegas Raiders have their quarterback in Geno Smith but he needs more players to throw to. Brock Bowers might be the best tight end in the NFL and Jakobi Meyers is a great No. 2 wide receiver but the team needs a true No. 1 wide receiver.
There aren't many young options in free agency but there are some older veterans who could still have juice left in the tank. Stefon Diggs was one of the best wide receivers in the NFL during his stint with the Buffalo Bills but his 2024 season with the Houston Texans was cut short due to a torn ACL.
Diggs could still be a No. 1 wide receiver if he's healthy and he'll likely be cheap in free agency. It remains to be seen if the Raiders will be interested but it does seem like he has a relationship with Smith.
The new Raiders quarterback posted a picture on his Instagram of a group of players he was working out with and Diggs was one of the players tagged.
While Smith could simply be working out with Diggs, the picture has certainly raised some eyebrows. It's unclear just how close the quarterback and wide receiver are considering they've never been teammates.
Regardless, the Raiders need a wide receiver and Diggs might be the best available in free agency alongside former Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp. If Las Vegas is going to spend good money on a wide receiver, it will likely be on one of those two.
