Andy Cohen has listed his duplex in New York City’s West Village for a whopping $14 million.
After purchasing a nearby penthouse for $18 million, which features the outdoor space his current home is lacking, the 56-year-old Watch What Happens Live host is ready to unload the duplex with some help from Million Dollar Listing: New York‘s Ryan Serhant, 40.
“The first time I ever walked into Andy’s apartment, I said, ‘Whenever you are willing to part with this, even if I have to pull it from your grip, please let me know. Because it’s a one of one,’” Ryan told the New York Times. “It’s like moving into a magazine.”
“It’s one of those treasures that you wait your whole career for to find something like this that you get to bring to market and sell,” he added.
Andy’s duplex, which is set to hit the market later this month, boasts 3,500 square feet with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, an office, a den, and a nanny’s suite.
After purchasing his initial unit on the corner of a historic pre-war building in 2003, Andy purchased three more units, and with help from architect Gordon Kahn and interior designer Eric Hughes, he combined them into one colorful, modern unit.
Among the stellar features of the property are a custom glass, walnut, and steel staircase, a massive gold disco ball, wood-burning fireplaces, a custom bar, and three storage units.
In addition to a blue kitchen with floral wallpaper and walnut countertops, Andy’s duplex boasts burlap Ralph Lauren wallpaper in the living room and views of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings in the master suite.
In his bathroom is a soaking tub and marble steam shower, and in a guest bath is silver mylar wallpaper and a vintage mirror.
“The design of the home is not only beautiful, it’s completely functional and has more storage space than you could ever need — which is not something that is easy to come by in the West Village,” Ryan said in a statement to PEOPLE. “It took Andy nearly two decades to make this place what it is today, by combining four homes which is what makes it so special. Opportunities like this don’t just happen in New York City. Whoever buys this home is truly getting a once in a lifetime deal.”
In a social media post shared Wednesday, Ryan looked back on the moment he first stepped into Andy’s home.
“I remember the first time I stepped foot in Andy Cohen’s West Village apartment. My jaw dropped. I saw 25 windows with unobstructed views. I saw wood burning fireplaces. I saw an immaculate renovation and gorgeous finishes, a super fun design and an incredible floorplan for four bedrooms over 3,500 SF. And then Andy said, ‘Hey! Stop looking at my home like a broker. You’re here for a play date with our kids. I’m never selling!’ Well. Never is now,” Ryan declared. “As seen in the [New York Times] this morning, this one-of-one West Village trophy home will be coming to market soon in our [Serhant Signature] division.”
“PS: When [Andy Cohen] hires you to sell his personal home, you HAVE to do a little photoshoot,” he added.
Speaking to the New York Times about his new place, Andy, a dad of two, signaled a 2,000-square-foot terrace, which is the perfect space for his children to play.
“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he admitted. “I had to take it.”
