Some of us are old enough to remember when Danielle Staub went on Watch What Happens Live and triumphantly declared that she’d never return to Real Housewives of New Jersey. At the time, she made herself very clear. Apparently, something has changed since then.
Recently, Danielle shared that she felt compelled to return to her alma mater amid the rumored cast shakeup. She suggested that the producers center the next generation of RHONJ around her and Teresa Giudice. However, just because she’s putting that idea out into the universe doesn’t mean it’s being received.
Why Danielle Staub will stay in Real Housewives retirement
According to TMZ, sources close to the RHONJ producers are not interested in having Danielle come back. Not at all. Despite her grand ideas of rejoining the cast, the producers are supposedly looking in the opposite direction.
Of course, there are no concrete plans about what the future holds for RHONJ. It could be a full reboot, or we might just see a small cast shakeup. No one knows for sure, but what the producers do know is that they don’t want Danielle anywhere near it. They said they want to look “forward” and not “backward.” Thank goodness.
Particularly, the production team noted that they wanted to avoid going back down the toxic rabbit hole that the show has put itself in. Bringing back the woman who yanked Margaret Joseph’s ponytail would be a step in the wrong direction. Instead, they’re reportedly looking to bring in women who are “positive” and “loving.”
For now, we’ll just have to relive Danielle’s glory days from seasons past. The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming in its entirety on Peacock.
