Cowboys Ex Deion Sanders Major Problem Revealed With Rumored NFL Move - suong

FRISCO - Who's idea is it that Deion Sanders might make the big move to the NFL?

Apparently, it's Deion's.

Over the weekend, we asked the question, "Can Tom Brady get the Dallas Cowboys legend to change his mind and say 'yes' to a shocking move to the NFL?''

Brady, of course, is now a power-broker part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The allure- at least in terms of grabbing headlines - is obvious.

Along the way, Deion has always denied on multiple occasions that he was looking to leave college coaching - starting with a visit two years ago here with us at CowboysCountry.com during which “Coach Prime” insisted he’s “too old-fashioned” to bother dealing with the modern pro athlete.

Still, the rumors just won’t go away.

But is seems this time the rumors won't go away because the Colorado coach is the one triggering them.

To some fans, Deion working with owner Jerry Jones and his old “America’s Team” pals is appealing; that rumor might never fade.

But the Raiders thing? What's going on there?

Per Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Sanders has a "very strong interest" in becoming head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

And that might be.

Sanders recently said the only way he’d move to the NFL is if he could coach both of his sons, first-round prospect quarterback Shedeur Sanders and later-round defensive back Shilo Sanders. The Raiders have the draft wherewithal to actually make something like that happen.

Alas, now comes a second chapter to the story ...

The Raiders - despite the fact that in this scenario they would suddenly match up with most any team in the league in terms of the front office - are apparently not the ones behind the rumor.

Deion is.

The Athletic is now reporting that the Raiders have "zero interest'' in this move, adding that Sanders is merely using the Raiders for leverage in order to get a bigger payday from his present employers at the University of Colorado.

Brady, the future Hall of Famer and the winningest quarterback of all time … teaming as part of Mark Davis’ ownership group with the iconic Sanders, the Hall of Famer and greatest cover cornerback of all time?

It's a glitzy idea. But apparently it's Deion's idea ... not Brady's.
