The result put an end to the Chief's hopes of winning three Super Bowls back-to-back.

The Eagles dominated the early stages of the game, having scored seven points in the first quarter.

This was then followed by 17 points in the second quarter, all without reply from the Chiefs.

The Eagles finished the first half 24-0 up and on their way to a whitewash win.

However, across the second two periods, the Chiefs outscored the Eagles to restore some pride.

Patrick Mahomes and Co scored 22 points to the Eagles 16 to close the gap.

The Eagles' defensive performance in the second half has been picked up by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Linebacker Jalyx Hunt has revealed that the coach told the defense what he thought in a meeting four days after the game.

During an appearance on the Pete Takes podcast Hunt said Fangio told them it was "This is unacceptable. Unacceptable. 22 points".

Hunt added: "He wants perfection."

The Eagles managed to build their lead to 34-0 in the third quarter before the Chiefs finally got on the scoreboard.

They built the lead to 40-6 before the Chiefs added a couple of late touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Hunt did have to pay a fine after the Super Bowl victory.

He was punished by the NFL for "unsportsmanlike conduct" for his celebration after a sack.

This led to a fine worth $5,690.

Hunt will have no problem paying this, as he picked up a bonus of $250,000 for winning the Super Bowl.
