Fans were aghast to learn Bella Hadid got a nose job at age 14. In a recent interview, the 25-year-old model confessed she regretted the decision and felt she would have grown into it.
Bella’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, a former star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is being slammed on social media for allowing it to happen. The alum was once a supermodel herself and guided her daughters (Bella and Gigi) in their first steps toward stardom.
Many people expressed their concern (and anger) over Yolanda’s decision. “How much do you want to bet Yolanda was the main one making Bella feel that way about her nose? Then ALLOWING SURGERY?” wrote one.
“At 14, you are just too young to have a nose job… Yolanda should have never had kids!” said another. Another user was less subtle: “Bella Hadid got a nose job at 14???? There is a special place in Hell for Yolanda.”
Another fan tweeted, “Yolanda did a number on both daughters, especially Bella. Having a nose job at 14 is so problematic.”
Just hours after the information was released, Yolanda was caught on the streets of New York, walking casually with a slight smile. The Bravo star wore a dark trench coat, tight jeans, and a turtleneck sweater. She seemed to have no problem with the paparazzi.
In Bella’s interview with Vogue, the model discussed her insecurities as a model, saying, “I’ve had this impostor syndrome where people made me feel like I didn’t deserve any of this. People always have something to say, but what I have to say is, I’ve always been misunderstood in my industry and by the people around me.”
Bella also admitted to being a people pleaser and feeling she needed to prove herself due to the success of her older sister, Gigi.
“I was the uglier sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing,” Bella shared. “That’s really what people said about me. And unfortunately when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it. I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety — what was I doing getting into this business? But over the years I became a good actress.”
For now, Yolanda has yet to comment on the issue. During her time on RHOBH, she was the queen of keeping a stiff upper lip.
