Bravo canceled Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 reunion, and Kim DePaola just revealed the cast’s reaction to the news. As it turns out, the cast may have been just as shocked as the audience.
When Bravo announced the reunion’s cancellation, viewers could only speculate as to why. Suspecting fans pointed immediately to Teresa Giudice, whose feud with Melissa Gorga caused filming preclusions all season.
Granted, Tre isn’t the only problem on the RHONJ cast right now. But Bravo gave no official reason regardless. And as far as Kim is concerned, the reunion rescinding is a bad sign for the stars.
Does the RHONJ reunion cancellation signal a reboot?
On the June 17 episode of the Miss Understood podcast, Rachel Uchitel and Kim discussed the RHONJ reunion’s cancellation. Kim suggested the cancellation was the cast “getting punished” by Bravo. “They’re losing a lot of money. Listen, they all expected a check on June 27.”
She continued, “The producers lose a ton – millions. The editors, the producers, the cast, makeup artists – everybody loses in this. So, it had to be pretty bad for them to cancel it.” By “it,” Kim meant the fighting between cast members.
Later in the podcast, Kim revealed that “Every single one of the cast – and I know them all – were completely sideswiped and shocked over the fact that they’re not getting a reunion. They shot themselves in the foot. All of them. They played their cards. No one’s bigger than Bravo.”
Kim went on, saying the powers that be “warned” the cast. Moreover, she supposed that the network would fire multiple cast members, potentially the entire cast. Of course, she explained, “That’s my gut feeling,” confirming it was just speculation.
“When people like Andy Cohen and those producers lose this kind of money, I think they have a bad taste in their mouth.” Kim and Rachel further insinuated that the current cast was full of lawsuits waiting to happen, which Bravo would want no part in.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
