'Vanderpump Rules' Veterans Hint at Cameos in Reboot as Season 12 Production Kicks Off - lulu

Two veteran “Vanderpump Rules” stars are not ruling out cameos on the reboot of the Bravo reality show.

In new interviews with Extra TV, VPR OGs Tom Schwartz and Scheana Shay were asked about the reboot, which will feature a fresh cast of staffers from Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Lounge in West Hollywood for season 12. Both hinted that fans could potentially see them on the Bravo hit once again.

According to Us Weekly, filming for “Vanderpump Rules” season 12 officially began last week. Vanderpump was spotted filming outside of SUR on Wednesday, April 9.

Scheana Shay Said She Would ‘Potentially’ Make a Cameo on VPR 2.0

Shay was an original cast member on “Vanderpump Rules” starting in 2013 when she was a server at SUR. In an April 10 interview with Extra, Shay said she was “excited” for a new group of SURvers to get the chance to “live their authentic lives” on camera. “And I can’t wait to watch,” she added.

The “Good as Gold” singer was also asked if fans would see her make a cameo on the rebooted series. “Potentially,” she teased before coyly adding, “I don’t know.” Shay admitted that she does not talk to her former boss, Vanderpump, very often.

Shay also offered some advice to the newcomers. “To not hold back, to not worry about what people online are going to say,” she said, adding that they should be “authentic.”

Tom Schwartz Is Open to a VPR Invite

Original cast member Schwartz also spoke to Extra about the new version of the show.

“I think it’s going to be great,” he said of the reboot. “I know it’s been getting some flak from some of our OGs but like they do have big shoes to fill, but I think it’s going to be apples and oranges, you know what I mean? We had lightning in a bottle for sure … but listen, from what I hear, I’ve talked to some of the producers, they got it again, they got some magic going .”

Schwartz revealed that some of the new cast members came into Tom Tom, Vanderpump’s nearby bar which he has a small stake in, and asked him for tips on being on the show. “I showed them a little love…I hope they crush it,” he said of the newbies.

When asked if he would make a cameo on the show, Schwartz replied, “If Lisa wants to have me, I’m always down. I could probably give them a lot of lessons about what not to do in life.”

Vanderpump has not ruled out a Schwartz cameo. She previously told Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” that fans could see Schwartz on camera due to his role at her bar TomTom. “I think we’ll definitely be filming at TomTom as well [as SUR] for sure. I think Schwartz is going to be more involved in that,” she teased in late 2024.
