VANDERPUMP Rules' Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz's bar has been seeing a lot less customers on weekends, multiple sources have revealed to The U.S. Sun.
As Vanderpump Rules fans are aware, Schwartz & Sandy's took a major hit following the revelation of Tom Sandoval's affair.
Business in recent weeks has been slow with the Los Angeles bar "barely" drawing in a big crowd, especially on the weekends, multiple sources have told The U.S. Sun exclusively.
"It's been dead on weekends," one insider spilled, noting they went on a Saturday night in December and again in January.
"There was only a couple of people at another table. It was empty."
On Saturday, March 9, the day before the Oscars when many people were in town for Hollywood's biggest night, the same thing occurred.
"There were less than 10 people inside between the hours of 10 pm to midnight," a second source revealed.
Food was not served after 10 pm and the staff also appeared to be downsized with three staff members running the front of the house.
This comes as a shock since normally, the other VPR restaurants located in West Hollywood are busy on a Saturday night.
Peter Madrigal, the manager of Sur, told The U.S. Sun that they were preparing for "400 people" on March 9 at Lisa Vanderpump's popular restaurant.
NEW MENU
The U.S. Sun previously reported that changes to the menu were made earlier this year, completely slashing the drink selection in half.
Originally having eight specialty cocktails, there are now only four on the new menu called The Fresh Start, Wendy Peppercorn, Midnight Madagascar and Arugula Awakening.
In addition, the appetizer mushroom-gruyere beignets is no longer on the menu and has been replaced with a dessert named Strawberry Schwartz Cake.
Before the menu had a palm tree background and was broken up by appetizers, salads, entrees, cocktails and wine.
Now, it is only broken up by two categories: drinks and dining.
SAVING FACE
The most popular night of the week at Sandoval and Tom Schwartz's bar, per an insider, is Tuesday nights when the Toms host a viewing party for new episodes of Vanderpump Rules.
Schwartz wrote on his Instagram story on March 13, "The watch party crowds have been 10/10. So grateful for you guys.
"Energy is unrivaled. Thx for the continued good vibes."
They also plan on hosting an upcoming St. Patrick's Day party on Saturday, March 16, with drink specials and a deejay.
Schwartz shared in a recent interview with Parade how they plan on getting business back to how it was when they initially opened in November 2022.
“We just installed a new sound system, so we’re finally implementing our music program, DJs," he revealed.
"We’re going to have some cool, little musical acts. We’re going to change some of the decor, new food, new drinks, but it’s like a Schwarz & Sandy’s Resuscitation 2.0, a resurgence, and it feels good."
SHUTTING DOWN?
Despite rumors online that the bar is shutting down, Katie Maloney's ex insisted in the March 5 interview that it's "not closing."
However, he couldn't say what the future holds.
"I mean, listen, you never know a year from now, but right now we have a synergy and a momentum we haven’t had in a long time.
"Something feels different. We have some magic going again," Tom remarked.
Back on February 10, fans believed that the Franklin Village lounge had already shut down since the doors were not open on a Saturday.
An online user took to Reddit to ask if Schwartz & Sandy's was closed.
The U.S. Sun revealed shortly after that there was a private party that day, which is why it was closed to the public, despite not giving fans any warning ahead of time.
Although Schwartz & Sandy's is part of the storyline this season, fans will not get to see any parts of it on the show.
Bravo cameras have been "banned" from filming season 11 since it was something that ultimately the Tom Toms' partner, Greg Morris, "did not want" due to the toxicity it was getting post-Scandoval.
Sandoval had a months-long affair with co-star Raquel Leviss while in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Ariana Madix.
The affair played out on last season of Vanderpump Rules.
