The Summer House Season 9 finale showed the cameras picking back up in January 2025 for a girls' afternoon at Lindsay Hubbard's, where Amanda Batula and Paige DeSorbo first met her daughter Gemma. But the real reason for the get-together was obvious: Paige's split from Southern Charm cast member Craig Conover had gone public, and the podcaster was ready to talk about it.

As Paige navigated headlines and a newly strained relationship with her ex-boyfriend of three years, perhaps the most insightful comment came from not another Bravoleb who knows about life in the spotlight, but her father Gary DeSorbo.

Paige revealed the remark after admitting she felt "great."

"Honestly, I feel bad that I feel good," she said before explaining that she knew she made "the right decision" after a phone call with her dad "literally two days later."

"My dad called me and he was like, 'I just want to let you know I feel like your personality is back,'" Paige recalled, adding that her father apparently hadn't realized "how different" she had been lately.

Basically, her dad revealed that not only does Paige sound "so happy" when they talk, but "I feel like I have my daughter back a little."

Amanda and Lindsay agreed that their housemate had seemed "different" over the summer, but wanted her to be able to express her feelings to them on her own terms.

Per Paige, when the Sewing Down South founder came to visit her in the fall, his questions sparked a series of realizations for her — mainly the realization that they weren't in the same place when it came to their relationship.

For example, when Craig apparently asked her if she ever pictured their future life together, like "hosting the holidays" as a family, she said yes — and then it hit her that she actually didn't.

"I said 'That's not fair to you,'" Paige recapped for her friends on the finale.

She also remembered saying to Craig that "You deserve to have the love of your life, and I feel like I do too, and I can't, like, pretend that we don't have these issues."

If that weren't enough, Craig's mention that he'd purchased an engagement ring for her during their next conversation sealed the deal. "Right when he says that to me, in my head I'm like, This is why we're breaking up," she said, "Because I don't know if you're lying right now."
