"Tom Schwartz Wasn't Afraid to Let Out Harsh Sarcasm When Asked About Katie Maloney's New Boyfriend"

Tom Schwartz is reacting to the news that his ex-wife, Katie Maloney, has a new boyfriend.

The Vanderpump Rules cast member, who was married to the Something About Her co-owner from 2016 until 2022, shared his thoughts on Katie's new relationship status during a recent chat with Page Six.

"I haven’t met her new man, but I’m so happy for her," Tom told the outlet. 

Katie herself confirmed that she was "in love" with her boyfriend, who is rumored to be Sleeping with Sirens' guitarist Nick Martin, on the October 16 episode of her podcast, Disrespectfully. The podcast date also happened to be a meaningful day for Tom. 

"Although, she did announce it on my birthday..." Tom joked about finding out about his ex's new love on his 42nd birthday.

Regardless, the Tom Tom part owner added that he loves to "see [Katie] just thriving" these days.

"I mean it," he continued. "I love to see her happy."

Where do Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney stand today?

In the years since Katie and Tom split, they've had a tricky relationship. The exes continue to co-parent their two dogs, Gordo and Butter, and they are now "cool."

"We’re buddies. We're not BFFs — I don’t want to overhype it, but we’re cool,” Tom said in a recent interview. “We’re in a good place. We’re buddies again. There’s no friction or tension."

Like Katie, Tom has also moved on in his personal life. He began dating Sophia Skoro, a media planner, in December 2023 after meeting her at Schwartz & Sandy's a few months earlier. 

The couple went public with their romance in 2024, and they've since shared highlights from their relationship on their respective Instagram feeds. 

Tom gushed about the relationship in an interview with Access Hollywood in April 2024. "I'm happy. It's kind of new and exciting, and I kind of feel at peace for the first time in a long time," Tom said. "It's been really pleasant... She's just a badass human being."

On Disrespectfully, Katie's co-host (and Vanderpump Rules alum) Dayna Kathan asked if the former SURver had anything she wanted to "share."

"I'll share," Katie said. "So, I have a boyfriend. Yeah, I'm in love." 

She said that her beau "just makes [her] feel really special, and he's really special."

"I'm just really, really happy..." she gushed. "He's the most wonderful person I've ever met."

She also opened up about a recent trip she had taken with her boyfriend.

"I went to go see my boyfriend. He has to travel for work, so I went to go meet up with him, hang out with him, and spend some time [together]. And it was really amazing because I hadn't seen him in a few weeks," Katie said on the podcast. "And just being able to spend some quality time and just be around him was just really necessary. I had a really good time."
