The duo suspected Erin’s comment may have been related to an earlier conversation they had with Jenna Lyons at a furniture store, where Brynn insisted to Jenna that Erin had been making some disparaging remarks about her.
Without any direct confirmation, however, Jessel and Brynn agreed “something’s brewing” amongst the group and left it at that.
Why were Erin Lichy and Sai De Silva upset with Brynn Whitfield?
It didn’t take long for Erin to bring up the “cryptic text” with Jessel — and confirm it had been related to the accusations made about her at the furniture store during a conversation between Brynn, Jessel, and Jenna.
Erin denied ever making any negative remarks about Jenna and insisted she had just been retelling a funny story about a moment Jenna and Erin shared together in the Hamptons.
But ultimately, she placed the blame for the supposed miscommunication about the incident solely on Brynn’s shoulders.
“There’s a manipulator in the group who manipulates things,” Erin told Jessel. “She’s lying about this story. She’s lying.”
In a conversation with producers, Erin described herself as a “very honest straight shooter” and again denied making the remarks.
“The problem with Brynn that I have is that she will take a truth and turn it into a manipulation and an exaggeration and then make you look like a liar,” she said.
Erin wasn’t the only one to have taken issue with Brynn.
Sai De Silva delivered Jenna an apology earlier in the night after Brynn allegedly told the fashion icon at an earlier party at Jenna’s house that Sai “hated” her.
Now, placed in an uncomfortable position, Sai admitted she did say she didn’t like Jenna when they first met, but has since changed her tune.
“Well, I apologize. I really — I did say I didn’t like you. I never said I hated you,” Sai admitted to Jenna during the season premiere. “When I first met you I just feel like you were never yourself and I think that’s what irritated me and I didn’t get to know you for who you were.”
Sai added that she “judged a book by it’s cover” rather than get to know Jenna on a deeper level.
Jenna agreed to forgive Sai, telling her “I appreciate you,” before the two women embraced and agreed to put the earlier bad blood behind them.
But Sai clearly blamed Brynn for stirring up the trouble to begin with.
“I come to this party thinking Brynn extended an olive branch. I thought that we were smooth sailing, moving forward, and this just took me all the way back,” Sai confessed to producers.
The drama at The Fleur Room ramped up even further when Brynn walked over to join the conversation with Erin and Jessel. Erin then accused Brynn of unnecessarily stirring up drama among the Housewives.
“I have integrity and I told the truth and you don’t do that,” she said, calling her a “bad friend.”
But Brynn was quick to shut Erin down.
“You’re staying stuff that’s not true about me and my character, like that has to stop,” Brynn shot back.
The heated argument drew the attention of Sai, who walked over to air her own grievances against Brynn. Sai continued to insist that Brynn was the instigator of all the drama, but Brynn replied that she was “literally the most fun person” and calmly shook the criticism aside.
“Not today, Satan,” Sai told her before walking away. “Not today, Satan. I won’t do it. You know what? You and me can have a conversation one-on-one on another time, but Satan, not today.”
As Sai stormed off, the others sat stunned .
“I don’t agree with what just happened,” Erin said, seemingly coming to Brynn’s defense.
But by then, Brynn — who arranged the gathering — had it and told her brother Darius they were leaving.
“I’m not Satan. First of all, I’m Satan’s fourth wife,” Brynn later told producers with a laugh. “But don’t scream at me in public, like we’re grown women.”
