The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis Reveals the Real Reason Behind His Breakup With Juliana Pasquarosa Leaving Fans Completely Shocked

Another Bachelor love story has come to an end — Grant Ellis and Juliana PasquarosaJuliana Pasquarosa have called it quits.

“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship,” Grant, 31, wrote via his Instagram Stories on Friday, June 13. “We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”

Grant further stressed that he and Juliana, 28,  had a “meaningful” and “real” connection on The Bachelor, which they attempted to continue in the real world.

“There’s no negativity here, no resentment [and] just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward,” he added. “I’ll always be grateful for what we shared and for the growth that came with it. Thank you to everyone who supported us and believed in our journey. This chapter is closing, but we’re both walking away with love and respect in our hearts.”

Juliana also released a social media statement on Friday, noting she and Grant still planned to “cheer each other on” albeit from “different places.”

“It’s a gift to find someone who sees the world in a way that resonates with you, while also encouraging you to grow. I’ve been grateful to share that experience with Grant,” she wrote. “Marriage is a commitment, and it’s one we both still believe in deeply. After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve come to the decision that this chapter of our lives is meant to continue on separate paths. We shared something meaningful, navigating a unique journey side by side [and] learning, growing and showing up for each other the best we knew how. While this isn’t the ending we once imagined, it’s one filled with mutual respect, care and hope for what’s ahead.”

At the end, Juliana asked fans to “please be kind.”

Bachelor Nation watched Grant and Juliana fall in love during season 29 of The Bachelor, which premiered in January. After he sent home runner-up Litia Garr, Grant proposed to Juliana during the March finale.

“Through this whole journey, you’ve been someone who has inspired me,” Grant gushed at the time. “I truly believe that you are somebody who is my best friend and I’m so grateful for our journey. … I’ll be there for you as your man, as your friend, as your partner. Juliana, will you marry me?”

Juliana responded “a million times yes” through tears.

During the live portion of the finale, the couple revealed their plan to move to Boston.

Prior to the finale, Grant opened up about his bond with Juliana in his February cover story with Us Weekly.

“From night one, we really connected over our love of playing the piano. We always had that physical chemistry, and then we started to really develop an emotional connection,” he raved. “Every relationship was different, but that was a relationship that really developed over time.”

At the time, Grant revealed that he fell in love with two women during his journey.

“I didn’t think it was possible, but it is,” he explained. “You probably should avoid it, though.”

According to Grant, “it’s very hard” to be the lead of the reality show “when you develop feelings and then tell people how you feel.”

“You’re honest and sincere, and you try not to hold back — because that’s the way you find your person — but it’s easy to be villainized because you don’t want to lead anybody on,” he noted. “A man dating multiple women is already at a disadvantage. You just have to be careful and see where the cards fall.”

Grant ultimately received backlash for telling both Juliana and Litia that he loved them before making his final decision. In his Us interview, he reflected on not setting rules for himself when it came to saying the L-word during filming.

“My plan was to go in there and lead with my heart, and that’s what I did,” he shared. “I didn’t really have a strategic plan. I know I’m a pretty sound thinker and I use logic, but emotions are a different thing. I was like, ‘I’m gonna lead with my heart and I’m gonna give this everything I got.’”

Shortly after the finale aired, Juliana weighed in on whether Grant’s dueling declarations of love led to any reservations about their relationship.

“We talked about things right before everything even started airing,” she said on Good Morning America. “Ultimately I don’t doubt anything you say because you show up with your actions, and that means more to me than anything.”
