Teddi Mellencamp defended herself against critics “coming for” her dating life and decision to foster a dog while she battles stage 4 cancer.
“People have been coming for me for fostering a dog and dating,” the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star — who recently confirmed her new romance — said on Wednesday’s episode of her and Tamra Judge’s “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast.
“Like, ‘The only thing she should be worrying about right now are her kids and staying alive. How in the world could she be dating?’”

“If I want to put myself in a situation where I’m staying busy so I’m not getting depressed, why have a problem with that?” Mellencamp wondered on her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast Wednesday.teddimellencamp/Instagram
“If I want to put myself in a situation where I’m staying busy so I’m not getting depressed, why have a problem with that?” the mom of three added, admitting the criticism does “bother” her.
While the internet trolls have incessantly reminded her of her condition, the Bravolebrity revealed her doctor gave her advice to continue living her life despite her diagnosis.
“My doctor said, ‘Now that I follow you on Instagram, I see some of the stuff that people write,’” Mellencamp recalled.
“‘I really don’t want you to think about your cancer as terminal. Just because that happened to somebody’s friend, aunt, brother, or cousin doesn’t mean that’s what’s happening to you. You should be having fun and trying to laugh.’”

Mellencamp, 43, went on to tell her listeners that she’s “doing better” with the new additions in her life.
“I’m at least feeling better, in the way that I’m working out four or five times a week. Fostering this new puppy has been really nice, and it’s given the kids a new source of happiness,” she shared.
Judge, 54, slammed Mellencamp’s critics, telling them to “f–k off” in an expletive-laced response.
“There’s not a day that you’re not worried about your health, getting better, doing everything that you can do and spending time constantly with your children,” said Judge.
“Like, shut the f–k up, honestly. If you wanna date, life doesn’t stop because you have cancer.”

Mellencamp — who announced her divorce from estranged husband Edwin Arroyave last November — confirmed she’s “dating somebody” on the podcast’s June 3 episode.
While she did not identify her beau by name, she described him as a “very kind” and “nice” guy who “takes good care” of her amid her cancer battle.
“He’s not married, he doesn’t have any kids,” she added of the “private person,” whom she was spotted cozying up to on a walk last week.
