Tamra Judge admits she and her husband, Eddie Judge, have had their fair share of fights and disagreements over the years. But only one of them led her to believe their relationship was over.
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member recalled the moment during a recent episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast, where she and Eddie were asked if there was ever a time when they almost called it quits.
Tamra addresses an "overwhelming" phase in her marriage
“I think in the very beginning, the first year that we were together,” she said in the February 4 broadcast. “It was just so stressful and overwhelming. My ex was riding me hard… It was such a stressful time for us. I remember one time you took off, you just left in the middle of a fight. [He] wouldn’t pick up his phone, wouldn’t return a text message, and was gone for several hours. I’m like, ‘Well, this is it. This is it.’”
Tamra said she was relieved when Eddie finally returned home and realized he simply needed some alone time.
“He just needs time to vent and I wasn’t used to that,” she continued. “He just needs to go and blow some steam and then, you know, come back… Then he just kind of acts like everything’s fine, like that never happened.”
Eddie credits Tamra for improving his approach to relationship problems
Although he didn’t provide details, Eddie confessed there were moments when he threatened to walk away from the relationship, but said Tamra made him understand that marriages take work.
“In the beginning, when we would have big fights, I would say, ‘I’m out. I’m done. I don’t want to be in this relationship,’” he told the hosts. “And she would always pull me back and kind of teach me, ‘No, this is not how it works. This is marriage, we work through it.’ And prior to my wife, particularly growing up, I had very little tolerance for relationship issues. If something happened, I would just walk away… She’s changed that for me and I see the beauty in that.”
Tamra and Eddie said *this* was a marriage "deal breaker"
While they’re both committed to solving any problems that might arise in their marriage, Tamra and Eddie said there’s one issue they would consider a deal breaker.
“Cheating. Infidelity,” Eddie said. “She can crash the car, she can burn the house down—”
“Chase you with a knife,” Tamra joked. “I’m kidding. No, it’s definitely cheating. You know, we’re so connected, and if he ever cheated, I feel like I would never be able to get over it — ever. We don’t have children together — so, emotionally, it’s hard — but it’s an easier break when you don’t have children together.”
