Southern Charm’s JT Thomas Racism Accusations Explained - lulu

I’m not afraid to note that I have been rooting for JT Thomas for quite some time. The little man with a big personality really ruffled a few feathers on Southern Charm. Dare I say I appreciated that about him? He made the men feel uncomfortable while trying his best to stand up for the ladies of the group. However, Season 10 hasn’t shown JT in the best light. As the season comes to a close, JT is finding himself dealing with racist allegations. Here’s what we know.

JT Thomas denied being racist after serious Southern Charm allegations by Ryan Albert

During the most recent episode of Southern Charm, JT hit his breaking point with the cast. Fans watched as Ryan Albert accused him owner of acting racist towards Venita Aspen. During the episode, Venita admitted she was “shell shocked” by what JT allegedly said to his barber during a one-on-one conversation. Newbie Ryan revealed, “JT told him that there is some Black girl that’s been coming on to him and his girlfriend is going to be so pissed off.” The information hit Venita hard. She spoke with longtime friend Leva Bonaparte, noting she wasn’t sure whose story to believe. Leva shared, “That doesn’t seem like JT.”

Thankfully, Leva doesn’t beat around the bush and chooses to go straight to the source. While speaking with JT, he admitted that he had been “flirtatious” with Venita while beginning a relationship with Ali Pereless. Sadly, JT wasn’t prepared for the news that came next. Leva noted, “Ryan, I guess, uses the same barber as you. He said that that barber told him that you verbatim said, ‘There’s some Black girl trying to get me to break up with my girlfriend. Venita is distraught.” The news hit JT hard; he seemed visibly shaken. He replied, “That sounds racist. I’m not a racist.”

Leva spoke with JT further as she enlightened him on what exactly had been said. The Republic owner shared that Venita had felt “used” after being privy to the rumor. JT told Leva, “I’m so sorry that she thinks this, but no. This is yet another time that words are being put in my mouth. I have nothing but respect for Venita.” JT grew angry as he told Leva, “This is absolutely bullsh*t. That is not how I roll. I have had enough of my name getting shattered and destroyed. I am tired of this friend group.”

JT did what any respectful reality TV star would do. He called his barber. He dialed the digits while in front of Leva to get to the bottom of the gossip train. The barber confirmed that JT had never said “some Black girl.” JT felt that the friend group was “trying to ruin my relationship. The barber shared, “You had said that there is an interest with a cute Black girl on the show, Venita. That was really the gist of it. There wasn’t really much context [other than] that.” The stylist even apologized to JT, noting, “You know, I may have said it because I was not articulate, you know? If it was off, something that I relayed, like, I’m so sorry.”

After the call, even though vindicated, JT was still upset. He told Leva, “That’s a big allegation. That’s a really big accusation by Ryan. What did I do to this guy? That’s a motherf*cker!” JT  then tried to call Venita to make amends for upsetting her. JT wanted to make sure V knew he would never talk about anyone like this. He could be heard telling her, “I’m still, like, shaking. I’m really upset right now. I know you are too. I’m f*cking pissed right now. This is horrible. I’m upset with him, and I’m upset that he hurt you. I’m upset that he hurt you by insinuating that.”

JT explained that Leva was also upset because her husband, Lamar Bonaparte, is Black. JT shared, “Now I’m hurt but had no idea you guys were hurting. I’m going, ‘What the f*ck is going on right now?’” JT then told Venita, “I f*cking love you.” However, he does not feel the same way about the rest of the cast.

He told Venita, “I’m done. So done with these people; they’re f*cking snakes. It’s Craig, it’s Austen, it’s Ryan, it’s Salley.” As fans know earlier in the season Craig Conover accused JT of calling Patricia Altschul a b*tch. Salley Carson found herself in a fight after JT accused her of having an affair with Gaston Rojas. JT went on to note, “This is sick, man. This motherf*cker just called me [racist], and his husband is also Black. This has all the looks of a f*cking target job by a psychopath.”
