Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 2 ended with a touching tribute to Patricia Altschul's longtime friend and former butler, Michael Kelcourse, passed away in October.
The Dec. 12 episode, more specifically, faded to black before a photo of Michael appeared onscreen along with an "in loving memory" message and the span of his life, 1953 to 2024. In the picture, Michael can be seen showing off one of his famous drinks (and Patricia's favorite), a martini.
The tribute on Southern Charm comes after Michael's death was confirmed on October 22, 2024 via a CaringBridge page that was created to share updates on his journey following the spinal cord stroke he suffered in 2021. He spent the subsequent years in Sarasota, Florida focusing on his rehabilitation.
Patricia Altschul's tribute for her former butler, Michael Kelcourse
Patricia honored Michael — who was a part of her household for over two decades — by penning an emotional message on Instagram.
"In Loving Memory of Michael Kelcourse. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Michael, who left us yesterday morning in Sarasota," she began. "More than just a devoted butler, he was a trusted friend, confidant, and member of our family for over 20 years."
"Michael’s time on Southern Charm endeared him to many, as his humor and kindness quickly made him a fan favorite," she continued. "Over the past two weeks, he was deeply touched by the incredible number of cards and well-wishes from fans. I’ve been told there were hundreds, and they brought him immense joy during his final days."
"I will be devoting this week to remembering Michael," Patricia's message concluded. "I know he meant so much to so many of you, as he did to us. He will be greatly missed."
