Austen Kroll and Shep Rose love the third season of The White Lotus‘s connection has been creatively linked to Southern Charm.
During a recent visit to the Watch What Happens Live Clubhouse, Shep and Austen weighed in on the SC x TWL season 3 link.
All roads lead to Bravo:
Andy Cohen inquired if the SC guys were watching season 3 of The White Lotus and what they thought of Jason Isaacs using Thomas Ravenel as inspiration for his character, Timothy Ratliff.
Austen admitted, “I think it’s epic.” Regarding Jason’s accent, Austin thinks “it’s spot on.” Shep agreed! “When I hear them talk, I’m just tickled. I think it’s wonderful; I love that show.”
They responded to the online fodder that the characters (not only their accents) were inspired by characters on Southern Charm. Messy Austen asked, “Do you think Patrick Schwarzenegger is Shep?” Shep quickly responded, “No, I don’t. Do you?”
Austen stated, “[Mike White] told the cast to watch [Southern Charm], so I was curious.”
Shep clapped back at Austen. “What about you? You could be [Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character] easily.” Austen’s response? “OK, but I said it first.”
ICYMI, T Rav isn’t happy …
Thomas Ravenel caught wind of Jason Isaacs using his Southern Charm “persona” for inspiration on the White Lotus. Jason Isaacs brought to life Timothy Ratliff — a well to do businessman from North Carolina.
Both Jason and his TV son Sam Nivola were told by the Show’s creator to binge Southern Charm to draw(l) inspiration for the Ratliffs.
Earlier this month, Thomas took to social media to respond. “I’m confused. Some actor told a reporter he impersonated my voice with the exception of 2 vowels. Then he told another reporter he borrowed the accent from a politician in North Carolina. I’m scratching my head over this.”
