Vanderpump Rules fans who were worried about the revamp affecting Scheana Shay are having a field day with her first comments about the potential new cast.

During the Friday, December 13, episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast, Scheana, 39, revealed the overlap between her and the new SURvers entering the show.

“So I don’t think they’ve announced who the cast is yet. I just know from still going to SUR and I am still friends with Peter [Madrigal], I talk to him often,” she explained in a clip uploaded to her Instagram. “One of the girlfriends who is one of my friends from the past, like, eight years, she is a SUR girlie.”

Scheana didn’t name the employee she’s on good terms with, adding, “I think I met her in 2016 or 2017 so she’s been there for a while. I do know that she filmed some stuff. So if I get to watch her journey, she is someone I tried to bring on the show the last several seasons that I was working at SUR.”

After being an OG cast member on Vanderpump Rules, Scheana recalled trying to pay it forward by suggesting new people to add into the mix.

“I was like, ‘She actually works here! We are actually friends!'” she noted. “I want to watch [season 12] for that. I just hope that when they announce the cast that she is for sure one of those people and she deserves it.”

Scheana’s comments section quickly filled up with people poking fun at her.

“You gotta love Scheana with this energy. 😂 of course, she’s gonna know the whole cast,” wrote one person while another added, “O mg is this the third week in a row she’s talked about the end of vpr/ new beginnings of vpr? Go find something else to talk about.”

Another follower speculated that Scheana was “planting the seed” so she can “get back” on Vanderpump Rules after Bravo overhauled the cast for season 12.

“I’m sure she’s BEST FRIENDS with everyone on the show. Lmao,” read a response, to which Shay’s sister Cortney Erin wrote back, “Why is it shocking she’s friends with people she used to work with.”

Scheana made Bravo history when she sat down to talk to Brandi Glanville on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2013, which became a transition for Vanderpump Rules‘ pilot.

While Scheana went on to be a main cast member for 11 seasons, she is stepping back now that season 12 is set to feature an entirely new cast from Lisa Vanderpump‘s restaurant SUR. Scheana’s time on Vanderpump Rules featured a lot of highs and lows — including ongoing jokes asking how everything affects her as fans have accused her of being self-absorbed.

“Feels like something’s finally about me. I’m laughing when I’m seeing these,” Scheana said on her podcast in April. “I’ve even retweeted and responded to people because I’m just like, ‘You know what? I like to be in on the joke.”

The most recent time Scheana became the butt of the joke after her comments in season 11 about how deeply affected she was by Tom Sandoval‘s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss — which caused his split from Ariana Madix.

“I just am hurting still. Why can I never have one moment where it can be about me? I am hurt,” she told Lala Kent during a March episode. “I lost a very, very dear friend. I am struggling with that. But I am not allowed to feel anything because it is only about Ariana. I am tired.”

Scheana also raised eyebrows for discussing how she wanted to be a contestant on Dancing With the Stars years before Ariana, 39, got the opportunity. The social media response caused Scheana to clarify what she actually meant.

“That was my genuine emotion in the moment, and as cringe as I might be sometimes, I don’t ever regret sharing. That is literally my job here,” she explained on her podcast in March. “This season, I was priding myself on trying to be the most open and honest version of myself — even if at times the audience may not agree with me.”

Scheana added: “I went way out of my comfort zone this season and I’m hoping that y’all can show me some grace and just understand that a lot of the things that we’re navigating are relatable. I’m putting it all out there because I hope that it helps people who have gone through similar things.”
