Scheana Shay's Husband Brock Davies Cheated on Her While She Was Pregnant: 'It Was Very Much a Conscious Decision'

"I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he'd cheated on me two years prior," the 'Vanderpump Rules' alum recalled in her new memoir 'My Good Side'

Scheana Shay is opening up about how she learned her husband Brock Davies had been unfaithful to her.

In an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, My Good Side, which was published by Glamour on July 10, the Vanderpump Rules alum, 40, revealed Davies admitted to having an affair as rumors swirled about him sleeping with her former costar, Rachel Leviss, amid the fallout of her cheating scandal with Tom Sandoval in 2023.

Leviss and Sandoval's relationship triggered the end of his nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix.

“I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer,” Shay recalled.

The confession came after the reality star spent “so much time fighting off my anxiety and convincing myself that just because Tom cheated on Ariana didn’t mean Brock would ever cheat on me.”

“Now, I was finding out just how wrong I was,” she added.

Recalling feeling “completely sick to my stomach,” she explained that Davies “admitted that — at the time — he was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else.”

“I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed," she wrote.

The fact his admission came on the heels of Scandoval didn’t help matters. 

She wrote, “Just when I thought my world had been rocked beyond anything I could have imagined, it was officially shattered into pieces—pieces I wasn’t sure I could put back together. I didn’t want to believe what he was telling me, and, oddly, I didn’t know how to react, either. I was so angry, so sad, and so hurt; those were givens.”

“There was this deep fury bubbling inside of me, and I couldn’t release it. If I screamed, I could wake up my daughter. Our daughter. His baby, whom I’d been carrying while he was in bed with another woman. I stood up and started pacing back and forth, fuming, and feeling like I might throw up.”

Shay said she was “unable to contain my rage” and “slapped him and threw a Rubik’s cube in his direction, which he dodged.” She added that the toy still “triggers me, pulling me right back to this incredibly dark moment in my life. Same goes for any mention of an F45 gym.”

The television personality revealed Davies had run into the woman, who “he had known since before we met,” while outside his gym, F45 Training East Hillcrest in San Diego, Calif. She explained, “After reconnecting, he said they began a brief affair.”

Davies declined to comment when reached by PEOPLE.

Eventually, Davies shared a letter — which included more details of the affair — with his wife.

“That same night, Brock gave me a letter that he’d written a year after the affair ended,” she shared. “He wrote the letter, which included more specifics than I ever wanted, such as how many times they’d slept together, where they’d done it, and where they hadn’t (our house). He also pointed out that it was purely physical, never emotional, and he always used protection. Gee, thanks!”

His note brought her back to a rocky period in their marriage, saying, “The letter made me remember the weeks leading up to my second trimester when, like many pregnant women, I was sexually stimulated.”

“I’ll never forget how, during that time, Brock was ‘afraid’ to have sex with me (or he simply didn’t want to),” she continued. “That did a number on my anxiety, and it killed my confidence in a way I can’t even describe.” 

“His behavior now made so much more sense,” she concluded. “Once I’d read it, that was more than enough. I told him to immediately toss it into the fire. I never wanted to set eyes on those words again.”

In July 2021, Shay and Davies got engaged after welcoming their daughter Summer Moon a few months prior in April.

Their Cancun wedding — which was heavily documented in season 10 of the hit reality show — was celebrated with their Bravo costars in August 2022.

Following the explosive cheating scandal which rocked Vanderpump Rules, the “What I Like” singer shared that she "obviously" asked Brock if he’d ever crossed the line with the former pageant queen.

"I absolutely did question him because after all the Tom and Raquel stuff, which I didn't think was true, I obviously had to ask," she said on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in April 2023. 

"He said, 'Absolutely not,' but, as a follow-up question [I asked], 'Did she ever try?' As much as I trust my husband, I don't trust [Leviss],” she recalled. “He said no. He said he never put that energy off, and we know Sandoval did."
