Saquon Barkley Reveals Message To Jalen Hurts Before 78-Yard TD Run - suong

Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl run remains alive after defeating the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 in the Divisional Round.

With just under five minutes to play in the game, the Eagles held a 22-15 lead with the ball at their own 22-yard line. On the very first play of the drive, Barkley, the former New York Giants running back, took the ball 78 yards down the field for his second touchdown of the game.

Although the Rams had a chance at the end, this score from Barkley ultimately sealed the deal for Philadelphia.

Just before the snap, cameras captured Barkley saying something to his running mate, Jalen Hurts, in the backfield. Many fans claimed that the running back told Hurts, "Watch this" before his game-sealing score. However, that has been proven false.

After the win, Barkley spoke to the media for a postgame interview. When asked if he told something to Hurts before scoring his final touchdown, Barkley revealed his interaction with the quarterback.

"I think I was on the wrong side," Barkley said. "But we don't gotta have that part of the story. It worked out pretty well, though. That was the conversation that happened back there... We checked it, and I was like, 'Am I supposed to switch?' He was like, 'No.' Can't say what he said because it gives away the play. And I wasn't quite sure and it just worked."

Barkley had another stellar performance against the Rams. The ex-Penn State standout recorded 26 carries for 205 yards and two touchdowns while adding four catches for another 27 yards. Now, he has the third-most rushing yards in a single season (including the playoffs) in NFL history, behind Denver Broncos legend Terrell Davis.
