RHONJ’s Margaret Josephs Reacts to Teresa & Luis’ “Sad” Tax Debt & Says She’s “Vindicated,” Hints at Her Wish for Next Season of RHONJ, and Shares Health Update on Husband Joe
Margaret Josephs claims she’s “vindicated” amid Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas’ tax debt, and she hinted at her wish for the next season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. The star also gave a health update on her husband, Joe Benigno.
Back in September, Margaret revealed that Joe was diagnosed with prostate cancer, but he chose not to remove the tumor. As for the show, RHONJ is still on hiatus, and fans are speculating on who will return next season.
Speaking with Us Weekly, Margaret addressed how she’s been since filming ended.
“Very, very peaceful,” she said. “It’s been great. I focus on my business. I have a great circle of friends. I’ve done a lot of travel. I was just in Marrakesh with 18 women and two glamour gays and not an ounce of drama … I was like, ‘Wow, no one’s fighting. No one’s annoying.'”
“I miss it a little … Filming was great. It is a job, it’s a good time. I love a lot of the women that I work with, but it’s also a nice break,” she added. “I think it was a necessary break. I think a lot of the ships have sailed with certain people. We can’t all be together, clearly.”
She then alluded to Teresa and Luis’ reported tax debt. Together, the couple owes $3 million in back taxes.
“The longer we’ve been apart, I think time has told that, you know, I am clearly vindicated,” said Margaret. “Once again … the Marge has never been wrong yet.”
Addressing Teresa’s legal drama directly, Margaret said, “You know, it’s very sad. I never wish ill on anybody clearly, and I don’t want anything bad for Teresa ever. I don’t want anything bad to happen to her … and that’s why I always spoke up … So it’s unfortunate.”
But Margaret denied she was “mean.”
“No, Marge is actually protective and wants to say the truth and can sniff out something that’s not great,” said Margaret, referring to herself in the third person. “I’m brutally honest, and I think people have a hard time receiving those things. No one wants to be the deliverer … [of] unsavory news … You’re always killing the messenger.”
Margaret was then asked who she thinks should be on RHONJ next season.
“I have opinions of new people who should be on the show and existing people who should stay on the show,” she said. “I think certain people, you know, need to move on … I think we need light drama, fun, positivity, light shade.”
As for her husband, Margaret shared that he’s now “healthy” and “gets checked regularly.”
