Ramona Singer Claims Sonja Morgan Is Doing 'Great' amid Recent Incidents-quang

Ramona Singer is addressing Sonja Morgan’s recent controversies.

After Morgan, 61, was involved in two separate incidents at restaurants in New York and Florida, her former Real Housewives of New York City costar is offering an update.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the May 19 Fountain of Youth premiere, Singer, 68, revealed that she has been texting Morgan, 61. Singer also claimed that Morgan has been misrepresented by the media.

“They don’t like to write good things, they like to write negative things,” Singer said of the tabloids. “They kind of embellish sometimes. Sonja’s fine — she’s great. She’s doing well. She’s in great health.”

“People take things the wrong way, and I only wish the best for her,” she added.

On May 10, Morgan allegedly refused to pay her $1000 bill at Tucci, an upscale restaurant in the Noho neighborhood of Manhattan. According to an onlooker, she called owner Max Tucci to dispute the bill and ask for a comped check.

Tucci later spoke with PEOPLE and confirmed that Morgan left without paying.

“I’d like to clarify that there was no agreement for a complimentary dinner. [Morgan’s] assumption otherwise shows poor judgment, which is consistent with her past behavior of not tipping our servers,” he said. “We stand in solidarity with our hardworking staff and the industry, expecting respect and fair compensation for excellent service.”

Morgan told PEOPLE that the altercation was due to a “miscommunication," which she had since resolved: “I, of course, offered to pay and tip and I did when they finally called me back on Monday."

Tucci, however, has banned Morgan from his establishment, noting that he and his staff are “refusing to tolerate disrespect.”

“Respect us, and we'll respect you. Sonja is no longer welcome at Tucci, and I have broken my grandfather Oscar Tucci's cardinal rule of ‘welcoming everyone to our table,’” he noted to PEOPLE.

Then, on May 15, TMZ obtained photos of Morgan being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher outside of Echo restaurant in Palm Beach, Florida. Captain William Rothrock of the Palm Beach Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that officers responded to a medical call at the restaurant that night, which Morgan claimed was for someone else.

“An elderly patron at the restaurant I was dining at appeared to be in distress, and I called for medical assistance,” she said in a statement to PEOPLE the following day. “While assisting during the commotion, I sustained some minor injuries and, out of an abundance of caution, accompanied the EMTs to be checked out.” 

“I’m incredibly grateful to the first responders for their swift care and professionalism,” she continued.

Rothrock did not mention if another patron was involved, but revealed that the department “issued a written trespass warning to Sonja Morgan at the request of the Breakers Hotel (owner of Echo).”

"I didn’t want to leave. I insisted on making sure she was cared for," Morgan explained in her statement in response to TMZ reporting that she refused to sign the warning.
