Raiders Set to Invest $160 Million in Free-Agent QB: A Bold Move in the Trade Market - suong

The Las Vegas Raiders were reportedly interested in signing former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, but the interest is not mutual.

According to FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz, the Raiders had their eye on Jones, but the former No. 6 overall pick, who was recently waived in the mist of a four-year, $160 million contract, does not want to go to Las Vegas.

"Sources: Despite interest from the Raiders, free agent QB Daniel Jones has eliminated Las Vegas from his consideration (contrary to other reports)," Schultz reported. "The former Giants’ QB is weighing substantial interest from multiple playoff teams, and wants to join a postseason contender."

Jones was waived on Saturday and cleared waivers on Monday, which made him a free agent. Reports have suggested he's interested in joining a contender and the Raiders obviously don't check that box.

Las Vegas lost quarterback Gardner Minshew for the rest of the season in Week 12 after he suffered a broken collarbone against the Denver Broncos.

Jones would've had a path to start in Las Vegas for the rest of the campaign, but it would've been a bumpy one considering all the issues the Raiders have had on offense this season.

The Raiders could roll with Aidan O'Connell in Week 13. The Purdue product was designated to return from injured reserve on Monday, which is the first step he needed to take to suit up on Friday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
