Ready for love.
Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo famously found love and got engaged on Season 13 of “The Bachelorette.”
The two got married in 2019 and shocked fans last year when they announced their divorce after over four years of marriage.
Now, Rachel stopped by “The Arch Effect” podcast hosted by Archie Jay and opened up about dating again after getting divorced.
“Pre-marriage, I loved dating. I love a first date,” Rachel shared. “We’re podcasters, so we love to talk. Let’s flirt and ask questions. It’s just so exciting — every first date is an adventure.”
Rachel has always been known for her honesty and vulnerability, and this chapter is no different. She described how daunting it felt to even imagine dating again, especially when it came to intimacy.
“I went on this date with a guy, yes post-divorce, and he said something interesting to me. He said he loves going into people’s worlds. He loves talking to people because it’s a new world. I was like, ‘I’m stealing that and I feel the exact same way,’” she recalled.
But even with that spark of connection, Rachel admitted it wasn’t easy to imagine being romantic with someone new.
“I remember thinking right after, though, that I cannot imagine somebody looking at my body and, like, being intimate with them,” she said. “I couldn’t imagine these things happening — until I went on a first date and then I was like, ‘And we’re back.’”
Now, after taking that first step, Rachel says she’s embracing this new season of her life with joy.
“I really just needed to take that first leap and now I’m fully back. I’m back to loving dating. We’re having a good time,” the former Bachelorette said.
We love hearing about Rachel’s journey back into dating and it’s a reminder sometimes you just have to dive back in to shake off those initial butterflies.
