Carl Radke Slams Lindsay for "Celebrating" Their Breakup: "What Actually F—king Happened..." - suong

Although tension has been simmering between Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke throughout Season 9 of Summer House as the exes navigate living together, the two finally addressed the giant elephant in the room during Episode 14, which took place exactly one year after their split. The heated conversation began after Carl wasn't thrilled with how Lindsay chose to commemorate the breakup.

“I would like to acknowledge that this is probably the most impactful day of my life, that changed the course of the rest of my life, forever,” Lindsay told Lexi Wood and Gabby Prescod as they drove to the Hamptons on August 30: the anniversary of her breakup with Carl.

Lindsay first marked the date by posting on her Instagram just before the crew arrived at the house together.

“What a difference a year makes," she wrote, along with a series of photos that included her bridal shower and bachelorette party. "One year later, I can honestly say I am happier than I have ever been because I focused on my own goals, success and happiness."

“When I think back to this day last year, it was one of the most difficult, humiliating & traumatic events of my adult life...I am proud of just how much I accomplished in this last year,” Lindsay continued in the post, adding a timeline of events in the last year, that included BravoCon, closing on Hubb House in Nashville, and finding out she was pregnant with her daughter, Gemma.

The post was read by all of the roommates, including Carl.

“If that’s what she’s gotta do to put her story out there? I’m sorry but when you put something out in that detail, it’s screaming something else inside of you very deep and dark in your body that is having a hard time with the reality of what actually f—king happened,” he said before Lindsay arrived.

Later, Amanda Batula joked with Lindsay about the post, declaring, “I saw your post. I’m sorry, I read your book. I thought we were done with timelines, Lindsay."

However, the post wasn't the only way Lindsay marked the anniversary of the breakup. She also decided to host a dinner for all of the Summer House-mates that night.

“I’d like to refer to it as my ‘freedom dinner,’” she said. “Because it set me free and allowed me to go pursue everything that I’ve pursued this past year. Now all my dreams are coming true. And they wouldn’t have happened if I was still in that relationship.”

Lindsay asked all of the group if they’d seen the Instagram post when they sat down to dinner.

“I didn’t look at Instagram. But I was sent it. Several times,” Carl said. “Thank you for reminding everybody about last year. Publicly. In paragraph after paragraph after paragraph. Stating a reality that I don’t think was reality, so, great job.”

Carl argued that yes, it was the anniversary of their breakup, but he didn’t need to post about it.

“Why not? It was a terrible, horrible, awful day for me,” Lindsay told him, to which he fired back, “For me as well."

“I’m just saying, I find it interesting you post a year later,” Carl continued. “You’re with someone else. You’re pregnant. You’re moved on. And you’re harboring on—"

However, Lindsay interjected, “I’m not harboring. I actually reflected and cried about how much I achieved in this past year."

Split of Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard

Although Carl told her he was “really proud” of her, he didn’t approve of the public post.

“I think the post is a little much. I don’t think celebrating what happened last year—” he started to say, but Lindsay broke in, “Who said anyone’s celebrating?”

Although Lindsay named it “the freedom dinner,” she explained why it wasn’t a celebration, including the fact that Lexi and Jesse Solomon had just ended their relationship moments before the meal.

“Well, Lexi and Jesse just went through a tough moment. Guess what? You are also free…we’re all free,” she said. “A lot’s happened in this past year. It was a very traumatic day. Humiliating, quite frankly. But, I am pregnant, and that is the best thing that could have ever happened to me, and I don’t think that would have happened if we didn’t break up.”

Lindsay then held up her glass in a toast.

“So, honestly Carl, thank you for setting me free, so that I could go and accomplish my dreams,” she stated.

“I could only dream that you’re happy, and I’m happy," Carl responded. "And I feel like we’ve accomplished that."
