Kyle Richards‘ youngest daughter, Portia Umansky, recently faced backlash on Instagram after sharing a photo of herself wearing a strapless top and a miniskirt while out in Chicago — and she didn’t hesitate to clap back at one particular criticism.
Months after Portia celebrated her 15th birthday, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 54, shared a series of photos of Portia on her Instagram Story as Portia shared the same images on her own account — only to receive comments regarding the outfit not being age-appropriate.
“Slay,” read a message in the caption of Kyle’s photo of Portia and a friend, which featured Portia making a face as she took a mirror selfie.
In a second photo, Portia stood to the side as downtown Chicago was in the background.
In the caption, it was noted that the teen was in town to attend Lollapalooza, a music festival.
Meanwhile, on Portia’s Instagram, she was met with comments from several people who felt that her outfit wasn’t something that should be worn by someone her age.
“Wow 15 looking 30 in that unsuitable outfit,” one person said.
“Agree. Totally inappropriate for a 15-year-old,” someone else replied.
Another Instagram user said, “Anyone who thinks this is ok has a serious problem. Where TF are her parents?”
Others said that Portia was “15 going on 30” as some defended the look.
“Leave this young girl alone . There is nothing wrong with how she is dressed. She looks beautiful,” someone declared.
“Why y’all are commenting like this?” another wondered. “Let her wear what she wants go worry about your own kids.”
Portia’s three older sisters, Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, Alexia Umansky, 27, and Sophia Umansky, 23, also came to her defense.
“Girl slayyyyyy,” Farrah shared in a comment.
“This is truly so gorgeous it’s unbelievable,” wrote Alexia.
“BEAUTY,” added Kyle.
And Sophia said, “GIRLLL!!!,” along with a series of fire emoji.
As for Portia’s own thoughts on the backlash, she responded to someone who said her photos made her “sad.”
“[Fifteen]??” the person asked. “This breaks my heart, kids should be kids. This is so sad.”
But in response, Portia told the person, “Don’t be sad, I’m happy as a clam!”
Kyle shares Portia, Sophia, and Alexia with her husband Mauricio Umansky, 53, who she reportedly separated from earlier this year.
As RHOBH fans may have seen, Kyle and Mauricio went public with their marital strife in early July. And, during an Amazon Live session last month, Kyle admitted it’s been hard working through their issues without privacy.
“It’s weird to have to acknowledge to millions of strangers that you’re having problems … It would be nice to be able to work through issues in your life without everybody watching and weighing in on it,” she explained. “[But] actually, all — our daughters and Mauricio and me — we all felt better after because so many people were speculating and making up stories, and it just was getting out of control.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime this fall.
