Philadelphia Eagles lose former Auburn lineman before NFL playoffs - suong
The Philadelphia Eagles will try to win Super Bowl LIX without offensive lineman Jack Driscoll.
The NFL team placed the former Auburn tackle on injured reserve on Friday after he had appeared on Thursday’s injury report with a ankle injury. Driscoll’s change in status came with Philadelphia preparing to start the NFL playoffs against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.
Driscoll played in a reserve role in 12 games this season before playing all 68 offensive snaps at right guard in the Eagles’ 20-13 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday, when Philadelphia rested many of its starters in the regular-season finale.
Driscoll joined Philadelphia as a fourth-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s played in 67 regular-season and four playoff games, with nine starts at right guard, eight at right tackle and one at left tackle.
To fill Driscoll’s spot on the active roster, the Eagles signed offensive lineman Brett Toth from their practice squad.
Driscoll’s injury leaves seven former Auburn players on the active rosters of the NFL playoff teams:
