THE Philadelphia Eagles are set to see some top players hit free agency, just one month after they helped the franchise win Super Bowl LIX.
The Eagles find themselves facing some tough goodbyes after handing a three-year contract worth $51m to linebacker Zack Baun.
While their league-leading running back extension for Saquon Barkley, worth $41.2m over two years, has also left them with a shrinking budget.
And with free agency now just a matter of days away, the Eagles appear to be ready to give up two of their defensive stars on the March 12 deadline.
According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, both Milton Williams and Josh Sweat will reach free agency.
He said: "Baun was the Eagles' free agent priority, meanwhile, the feeling in league circles is that Milton Williams and Josh Sweat will both hit free agency."
Fans were calling for one of Sweat, 27, or Williams, 25, to be handed the Super Bowl MVP award last month in New Orleans.
That's because the pair combined for an incredible 4.5 sacks, 10 tackles and one fumble recovery as the Eagles defense limited the Kansas City Chiefs to just six points in the first three quarters.
Ultimately the award was given to quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The pair's performance in the big game, coupled with their defensive showing throughout the regular-season, should see them swooped up and handed hefty contracts elsewhere in the league in no time.
Sweat put up 41 tackles, eight sacks, 15 QB hits and nine tackles for loss throughout the season.
His tally of eight sacks is the second highest of his career to date, lagging only behind his Pro Bowl season of 2021 in which he made 11 sacks.
While Williams managed 24 tackles, five sacks, 10 QB hits and seven tackles for loss.
Williams would have expected a bumper new deal to sign on at the Eagles, with the former Louisiana Tech Defensive Tackle playing out the final year of his $5.11m rookie deal last season.
Sweat, on the other hand, earned $10m for his one-year deal in the 2024 season, having first joined the Eagles back in 2018.
