The Rempire Tower's duo of Adam Edstrom and Matt Rempe may not be reunited this season, but that didn't stop him from playing to the best of his abilities. Even Head Coach Peter Laviolette has taken notice.
Peter Laviolette's latest statement on Matt Rempe gives us an idea of how an NHL coach thinks about each individual player. For Matt Rempe, it's been with slight hesitation and hope that he'd do better the last season and a half.
Rempe took those words to heart last year, and in the offseason put in the work to make himself a better player all-around.
This season he's played 58 games with the Rangers, and scored 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists). That is remarkably better than his 1st stint with the Rangers, which consisted of only 17 games played and 2 points scored.
Instead of posting goals, all he did was fight and accumulate PIMs. Which for some people is great thing, you need that immovable force on the ice which he gladly offered himself up as against heavyweights in the NHL.
This season, it's been one of growth.
The 22-year-old Rempe played one of his most noticeable games of the season, earning 12:26 of ice time.
This is a long way from where he used to be when he averaged 5:38 TOI per night according to StatMuse.
Now all Rempe has to do is stay consistent from here on out, and it looks like he may find a regular spot in the team's lineup.
Will he top his career-high ten points in 2025-2026?
