PETE Davidson left a mental health facility after just days while his inner circle pressured reality star Maria Georgas to publicly deny their brief fling.
Multiple sources exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Pete's inner circle pleaded with Bachelor alum Maria, 30, to shut down dating rumors and also insist he never went to rehab.
"Pete has been sober for four months, and everyone around him is really proud of him," an insider told The U.S. Sun.
"So when it came out that he was in treatment and dating Maria, they went into protective mode."
In an Instagram Story earlier this week, Maria wrote, "Never dated Pete. False rumor! I'm friends with his sister. Case closed."
She followed up in a second Instagram Story about 10 minutes later, writing, "Just spoke to his sister he's not in rehab and has been sober for months."
"Can't believe this s**t it's very insulting to his recovery and my mental health. He's literally home."
The insider explained that asking The Bachelor star to put out that statement was a "well-intentioned misstep."
They also claimed that Pete, 31, dated Maria on a "very limited basis."
So when they were linked as a couple, Pete's loved ones "were concerned and jumped in to protect him- Pete is concerned about the privacy of different people he's involved with."
The U.S. Sun reached out to Maria multiple times about her statement without a response.
MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT
The insider further confirmed that Pete was in Florida receiving treatment, as The U.S. Sun previously revealed, but they elaborated on the comic's recent trip to get help.
"He has a therapist in Florida who works on processing traumatic memories and dealing with PTSD."
Pete Davidson leaves rehab after just days and ‘pressures’ Bachelor alum Maria Georgas to publicly deny their ‘fling’
"Pete travels to see this therapist on a regular basis for treatment."
Though he may still have some struggles with mental health, the insider emphasized the Saturday Night Live alum is currently "clean and in a good headspace."
"This was for mental health, not substance abuse.
"He's keeping to himself for the most part. He is with his mom often, and has a movie coming out."
Pete Davidson's Rehab & Treatment Stints
Pete first checked into rehab in 2017 as he was diagnosed with BPD and PTSD.
In 2019, he went to the Sierra Tucson Treatment Center in Arizona.
The comedian underwent treatment at another mental health facility in June 2023.
He checked back into rehab at the end of July 2024 and a source revealed that Pete had left the facility after only a few weeks.
In November of 2024, The U.S. Sun revealed that Pete had once again briefly checked into treatment, this time in Florida.
MARIA'S SIDE
A second insider close to Maria told The U.S. Sun that the reality star "didn’t want to share that Instagram Story," but Pete's people convinced her to do so.
That insider called Pete and Maria's relationship "really a fling" and nothing serious.
"It started in mid-September and ended in mid-October," the insider claimed. "Which makes it so weird he asked her to say he was sober and not in rehab."
Maria was "definitely pressured" to release her statements, the insider insisted, adding, "I think she wants to try and protect herself as this is her first A-list relationship, but she definitely shouldn’t have done that."
The same insider claimed Pete allegedly returned from treatment to New York City "to prove he wasn't in rehab."
Earlier this week, Pete went to a Brooklyn Nets game with his mom, Amy, following The U.S. Sun's reports that he had checked into rehab.
A third insider said the comedian planned this public appearance to prove he wasn’t in bad shape, despite being in Florida recently for treatment.
The second insider added Pete "left the game very early and his mom posted the picture immediately, clearly trying to show he’s not in treatment."
On Tuesday, comedian Joey Gay posted a short video with Pete.
In the clip, Joey said, "I've learned a lot of things in this life, one of the things is you can't believe everything you read."
Pete shrugged behind Joey at the statement.
Joey has since deleted that Instagram post.
GETTING HELP
As The U.S. Sun exclusively reported, Pete had once again checked into a Florida treatment facility after breaking off his relationship with The Bachelor star, according to an insider.
"Pete checked into rehab in Florida fairly recently," the source claimed, adding that he flew private to the center.
The insider also claimed that Pete had ended his brief fling with Maria before going into treatment.
Earlier this month, Pete made a brief appearance at his former workplace, Saturday Night Live.
Before that, he was seen out with his old friend Machine Gun Kelly at The Room premiere in Los Angeles on October 24.
On November 5 he was spotted in Tennessee at a restaurant by locals who posted the sighting to social media.
REHAB REDO
Over the summer, Pete checked into rehab for at least the fourth time.
After Pete entered treatment in July, he canceled several standup dates for his Prehab comedy tour.
As The U.S. Sun previously revealed, Pete had a falling out with his former SNL costar and business partner, Colin Jost, 42.
An insider said that Colin "wants nothing to do" with Pete.
Another insider close to their Staten Island ferry venture tried to downplay any talk of a rift, insisting the pals simply drifted apart.
Pete broke up with his last serious girlfriend, Madelyn Cline, just before his summer rehab stint, as The U.S. Sun exclusively reported.
He previously dated actress Chase Sui Wonders, 28, and reality star Kim Kardashian, 44.
