Jerod Mayo was fired after just one season with the team and to replace him the Patriots brought in Mike Vrabel.

Following the coaching change, New England needed to reshape the roster. That is exactly what the front office has done so far.

So far, the Patriots have agrred to contracts with eight new players.

Those players are pass rusher Harold Landry, linebacker Robert Spillane, defensive tackle Milton Williams, cornerback Carlton Davis, offensive tackle Morgan Moses, defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga, quarterback Joshua Dobbs, and wide receiver Mack Hollins.

Now, a reporter covering the team is urging New England to pursue a 31-year-old wide receiver.Cooper Kupp

Karen Guregian of MassLive believes that Cooper Kupp would be a great pickup for the Patriots. He is currently expected to be either traded or released by the Los Angeles Rams in the near future.

"He’s not what he was when he earned the receiver triple crown in 2021 - tops in yards, receptions, touchdowns - but he’s still a good route runner who can beat man coverage, something Patriots receivers have been hard-pressed to do," Guregian wrote.

"He will make plays at critical times. Those qualities alone make Kupp an attractive catch."

Kupp is coming off of a 2024 season with the Rams that saw him play in 12 games and catch 67 passes for 710 yards and six touchdowns.

When Vrabel was originally hired, he spoke out about what he wanted New England to add to the roster. Kupp fits his requirements perfectly.

“We’re going to demand effort and finish,” Vrabel said. “People ask what non-negotiables are. Our effort and our finish is going to be the contract that we make with our teammates. That will be my job to make sure.”
